1. JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
A Bell Boy/Man employed for the purpose of carrying luggage for the guests as they come or leave
the hotel. He should as he welcomes them, go on to show them and escort them to their respective
rooms. He may also run errands that may arise in the hotel, during his shift.
2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPOSIBLITIES:
1. Receives guests in a professional and friendly manner, exceeding guest expectations from arrival
through to departure.
2. Maintains an up to date knowledge of the hotel and local services supplying information and
responding to guest queries.
3. Maintain awareness of guest profile through the Opera System
4. Ensures that the guest luggage is carried from arrival point to the room and from room to
departure point on checkout.
5. Escort the guest to the Front Desk and introduce the guest to the Front Office Associate
6. Delivers morning newspapers to rooms.
7. Ensures Bell desk and storeroom is clean, tidy and well organized
8. Receives from General Stores all Front Office stationary and stocks and delivers to the Front Office
Department.
9. Maintains a full awareness of the car park and front entrance at all times.
10. Maintains effective communication with all related departments to ensure smooth service
delivery.
11. Take immediate action and keep the Bell Captain informed
12. Request the assistance of Bell Captain in case of special request from the guests

13. Handles all messages, mail and packages for guests and ensuring they are delivered at the
appropriate time in a professional manner.
14. Maintains the daily function board and Opera notice board.
15. Establishes, promotes and maintains good public relations while meeting and exceeding guest
expectations.
16. Maintain regular and effective liaison between other departments with particular emphasis on
Front Office
3. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Comply with the Company’s Corporate Code of Conduct.
2. Familiarize yourself with the Hotel Central Plaza Hotels values and model behaviors.
3. Perform tasks as directed by the Manager in pursuit of the achievement of business goals.
4. Co-operate with the company to achieve compliance with FLS legislation.
5. Take moral and legal responsibility for conducting themselves in their work so they do not expose
themselves or others to risk.
6. Read, understand, and implement the relevant sections of the FLS Policy.
7. Sign the Employees' Declaration having read and understood the relevant sections of the FLS
Policy.
8. Not promote or participate in horseplay, pranks, or practical jokes, which may result in an
accident or injury.
9. Not intentionally or recklessly interfering with anything provided in the interests of safety.
10. Make careful use of safety equipment, such as gloves, goggles, aprons, overalls, shoes, and so on.
11. Return safety equipment to its designated storage area after use, and reporting any equipment
damage to the supervisor.
12. Take reasonable care when storing, handling, and using chemicals and dangerous substances,
lifting and carrying, and using or cleaning dangerous work equipment, including machines.
13. Not undertake any activity which compromises their personal FLS, or the FLS of others.
14. Report all accidents, dangerous occurrences, or hazards, no matter how minor, to the supervisor
or Heads of Department.
