Antibiotic susceptibility testing showed the Salmonella strain was resistant to ampicillin, cephalothin, ciprofloxacin, and trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, but susceptible to cefotaxime, ceftazidime, cefoxitin, gentamicin, and imipenem.
