VISION
A recognized School of Civil Engineering producing quality and internationally competitive life
of people and the environment.
 
MISSION
To provide students with instruction on civil engineering fundamentals, application and designs,
among others, to give them broad foundation of knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to
meet the technical, scientific, social and value challenges in their profession.
To create a dynamic learning environment that emphasizes problem-solving, project
development, collaboration, teamwork, communication and leadership skills to equip the
engineering students with conceptual, technical and relational knowledge to become competent
professionals.
To establish facilities, programs and exposures that will strengthen the civil engineering
instruction, research and extension services.
To educate and train students based on competencies and standards of the Commission on
Higher Education and internationally recognized agencies and institutions of the Civil
Engineering Profession.
To develop competent civil engineering professionals prepared for entry-level positions, further
and advance studies, community leadership and life-long learning.
 
OBJECT IVES
1. To inculcate the Vision-Mission, Core Values of San Isidro College and the Isidran Identity
Profile with the Civil Engineering Vision, Mission, Goals, Objectives and Outcomes.
2.  To provide the students with theories/knowledge in Mathematics, Natural/Physical Sciences,
as well as the other General Education courses, so that they will acquire the foundational
knowledge and skills necessary in understanding the professional civil engineering courses.
3. To equip students with knowledge and skills in basic engineering planning, design,
construction, management and maintenance of various structures.
4. To provide students with practical training or hands-on experiences and exposures both in the
laboratory and field so that they will be able to apply or connect the theories to practice,
thereby getting a holistic view of the profession.
5. To develop the communication and critical thinking skills of students so they could transfer
effectively their knowledge and skills in the workplace.
6. To equip students with research skills and provide them with community extension
opportunities to train them in addressing and solving community problems and/or contribute to
community development.
7. To develop competent Engineering instructors through advance studies, training, seminars and
workshops and exposures in other engineering schools, business and industries.
8. To establish collaboration and/or linkages with industries, government organizations, non-
government organizations, local government units and international institutions for students’
job training/exposures, for acquisition of more facilities and equipment, for deserving student
scholarships, for partnership in research and extension, among others.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN CIVIL ENGINEERING

The graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering program must attain the
following competencies/outcomes. He/she is able to:
1. Apply one’s knowledge in Mathematics, Physical Sciences and Engineering Sciences where
needed.
2. Do/write research, as well as analyze and interpret data.
3. Design a system, or an effective process.
4. Develop or build or install/improve systems or processes in engineering which meet the
desired need.
5. Work harmoniously with others even in a multi-disciplinary or multicultural team.
6. Recognize and solve civil engineering problems.
7. Communicate in oral and written English especially in transferring his/her professional
knowledge in the world of work.
8. Engage in life-long learning and update himself of the current development and contemporary
issues in one’s profession.
9. Use appropriate techniques, skills and updated engineering theories and technology.
