Mumbai Local Train

The Chief Secretary of Maharashtra requested that local train services in Mumbai and surrounding areas be allowed for all members of the public during certain times starting February 1, 2021. Specifically, they requested that services be allowed from start of day until 7 AM, from 12 PM until 4 PM, and from 9 PM until closure for the day. They also stated that essential services staff will still have priority access from 7 AM to 12 PM and 4 PM to 9 PM. Additionally, shops will be allowed to operate until 11 PM, restaurants until 1 AM, but staff limits of 30% will remain in place and establishments must follow existing safety protocols. State authorities will request these establishments stagger work schedules so staff can use trains during the outlined times.

Sub Regarding allowing use of local train services in Mumbai and MMR

With reference to the above-mentioned subject, it is requested that local train services be allowed to
all categories of the public in the following manner
1. Local train services be allowed from the
start of services for the day to 7 AM and then
from 12 PM to 4 PM in the afternoon
again
and from 9 PM to closure of local train services for
the
day with effect from 1s February 2021.
2. The local train services will be
restricted to the essential services staff
only as is being
permitted currently from 7 AM to 12 PM and from 4 PM to 9 PM.
3. The State Govermment is also
directing that
a. Shops will be allowed to operate till 2300 hrs
b. Restaurants will be allowed operate till 1 AM
to
C. But, 30% limit for staff will continue to be in force and above
establishments will be
allowed to operate as per the SOPs issued for the
daily operations of the same by
various departments of the State Government.
4. State Government authorities will also be
requesting all the above establishments to stagger
their work schedule in a manner wherein the staff
of the same will be able to avail the
services of the local trains in the
timings mentioned above.
