II. Advent recollection proper


 Now we are going to talk about advent
 Now let us dispose our selves to talk about advent with

 The first question to ask is what is advent and what is
the meaning of advent
 Are you aware of the liturgical seasons? We follow a
different calendar, do you know some advent songs?
 This is a liturgical calendar of the Church. We have 5
seasons and each season has a corresponding theme.
 What is advent?
Beginning of liturgical year, new year of the church,
Time for preparation, like how you prepare for the mass,
practice
Repentance, difference of lent and advent, why lent has
no alleluia

 Advent literally means to come
 There are other themes: The prophecy is going to be
fulfilled,

 What are the symbols of advent? Difference of lent and
advent
 Advent wreath, four candles? Hope, faith, Joy, Peace,
Christ
 Other symbols: Pink or Rose. Means rejoice! Gaudete
Sunday. 3rd Sunday, Christ is near so let us rejoice
