PURPOSE
To define the activities needed for the process of fabrication.

BEFORE FABRICATION
1. Production In charge is to check the following
a.Availability of all drawings & Part list with Revision No: 00
b. Applicable QAP.

2. Checking for any deviation or clarification in drawing and the same to be reported to
Planning Department.

3. Preparing the requisition for raw material, bought out items, Shearing Requirement,
Machining requirement, Sub-Contracting requirement to the concerned department.

DURING PROCESS

1. Ensuring the receipt of materials from stores in meeting the suitability as per drawing/
Specification.
Necessary cutting plan to be made before marking and layout to be offered for internal QC
before cutting.

2. Depending upon the job requirements, the processing activities fit-up, grinding, weld,
etc. can be made lined up.

3. Offering to Quality Control during process as per QAP stages in the Inspection
Request log book.

4. Ensuring match mark & hard punching of required details on the job as per drawing /
customer
specification.

5. Checking the dimensions of end product by shop QC and submitting the dimensional
report to customer QC for onward inspection

6. Document referred for tolerance shall be as per ITP and customer’s specification.

AFTER FABRICATION

1. After final inspection is over, the production in charge to fill up the following details
and submit the same to Planning Department for analysis.

a.Comments regarding drawings


b. Lead time for fabrication
c.Hold up if any during ‘in process’
d. Any rework / rejection / corrective action
e.Suggestion regarding improvement
