Personal Branding
Brands are a big part of our lives and they have very much
become so with the advancement of technology through the years. There are
only a few of us who can honestly confess that they are least bothered with
the brands in their lives. But what we seem to forget is before the
existence of organizations that were brands people were the actual brands
even before the term personal branding was coined. Personal
branding encompasses the entire individual’s personality in everything they
may do, be it the way they dress, the content that they talk with their clients
or just the image that they hold in front of their clients. I observed a lot more
about personal branding when I attended the lecture by Mr Senthil Kumar.
He gave us a glimpse into his life when he said he had failed a class in school
but he still got through it and it was his tenacity that put him in the position that
he is in now. The confidence with which he spoke made it easy for me
trust him and made me realize that whichever organization he is a part
of, would be just like him and would never give up on his customers.
This just made me review the current brand value that I possess and the
necessary changes I would need to make to achieve my target.
At my current position although I don’t necessarily have work experience, I
do believe there is a sense of trust that Is still in the people that I have
come across. I would like to target people who have been told throughout
their life that they need to find their passion, people who are restless, people
with multiple interests that might be contrasting in nature. I would like to
help them see that they need not be necessarily tied down to one thing
for their entire life. ‘You are only answerable to yourself’, is what I
would want my brand to be all about consisting of confidence, ambition and a
whole lot of individuality.
