Curriculum innovation is associated with curriculum change. A term in curriculum studies which means
any changes in the curriculum that is either planned or unplanned. Curriculum innovations, therefore
are positive changes or improvements that are happening in the education system particularly in the
area of curriculum.

Trasition Curriculum. It is designed to meet their special needs and respond to their specific interests. In
this program, the learners will enjoy an education that will enable them to become functional in their
everyday lives.

Curriculum Innovation is process improving the curriculum to an effective from the old one. It is new
thing in the curriculum wherein there is new knowledge about curriculum, new curriculum theories, or
new design, and outstanding curriculum practices that are sometimes developed out of research in
education or other studies from other disciplines and academic fields. Having this curriculum every
curriculum workers are adjusting to implement new things in education to ensure the quality of it.
It is design based on content standards as explicated by experts in the field (Glatthorn et al 1998).

indigenous people. It was an opportunity for them that have this curriculum which suit to their need

What is the difference between gifted and special child?
When we say gifted this is the person or individual who have an exceptional abilities. While the Special
child are those individual that mentally at physically disabled, which they need more attention, support
and care from her/his family and community in order feel them that they are not isolated.
In what level in education did outcome-Based in Education mostly applied?
The outcome-Based Education was mostly applied in tertiary level. Because in ASEAN Education
framework for higher education requires all colleges, universities, and institutes to transform all their
educational programs to OBE. Which design to ensure coherent, logical and systematic alignment
between and among the different levels of outcomes. OBE also ensures connection among the essential
elements of the curriculum: intent, content, learning experiences, and evaluation. In this students are
ready to response to the needs of the world.
What is a curriculum designed for special Learners?
Transition curriculum where design to respond the needs of the learners who are mentally disabled and
physically handicap. Which Special child in this curriculum will empower from home to school because
this is a way to educate special child and involves them in different field of work that suitable to their

Curriculum Innovation refers to the changes in the curriculum. The aim of this
curriculum is to improve the learning environment by adapting new curriculum knowledge,
theories, practices, and designs to ensure the quality of education for the students to become
competent individuals.

1998)
It is Standards-Based Curriculum which focuses on knowledge or content standards, skill
standards, and dispositions. Content standard refers on what students should know, care about
and be able to do in each level of learning. Second, skill standard refers to the skills and abilities
of the students that should be acquired in performing various activities. Lastly, dispositions are
the attitudes and values that students demonstrated as they interact with their classmates, peers,
teachers, and other members of the society.

It is Multicultural education which attempts to foster cultural pluralism and
acknowledges the differences between races and cultures. It addresses the educational needs of a
society that contains more than one set of traditions, which is a mixture of many cultures. This

What is curriculum innovation based on what you have learned in this lesson?
Curriculum innovation is for the new change on the old curriculum it is like the
upgrade of the old one, the newly improved and developed for the better learning
outcome of the students. When we say curriculum innovation it is a positive change with
regards to the curriculum or the educational system.
It is designed based on content standards as explicated by experts in the field
(Glatthornetal 1998)
It is the standards-based curriculum which includes the general statements of
knowledge, skills and attitudes that students should learn and master as a result of
schooling. It includes three aspects that students must know; knowledge, skills and
dispositions. Where in knowledge or the content standards describe what students should
know, while the skills standards include thinking and process skills and strategies that
students should acquire and the dispositions are attitudes and values that should be
developed and nurtured in students.
It aims to promote cultural literacy and cultural understanding.
It is multicultural curriculum which is done by cultural awareness activities by
knowing the different costumes, songs, literatures, foods, and introducing them to
different historical places of different countries as part of daily lessons however the
cultural awareness alone is not sufficient to develop cultural understanding.

history. As well as it values the importance of integrating indigenous knowledge system

It is the gifted education curriculum which have several examples of gifted
curriculum models such as; school-wide enrichment model which is for the development
of the strengths and talents of all students, next is the parallel curriculum model which
focus on the development of abilities who performed in an advanced level, then the
autonomous learner model which focus with the three level, and the integrated
curriculum model which is the popular way of this model is the organizing or designing
different kinds of curriculum and the last one is the kids academia model which is for the
young Japanese children ages 5-8 and it was developed by Dr. Manabu Sumida in 2010.
What is the difference between gifted and special child?
When we say gifted it is more on the students with advanced way of thinking,
skills or the talented one they were born with natural talent or skills, while the special
child is the one having difficulties, disorders/ disabilities even mental, physical and etc.
which really needs more time and attention.

It is mostly applied in college levels because it requires the students to be able to
do at the end of their chosen course. Students in tertiary level are undergone subjects
based on their chosen courses. The institution they are attending has philosophy, vision,
mission, and aims these are the statements of what HEI wants to contribute to the society.
At the program level where the students belong, they should have mold with the
institution's goals, program competencies, and course outcomes that they should master
and internalize.

Transition Curriculum defined the transition of learners from home to school. The learners in this
curriculum are the handicapped and disabled learners physically and intellectually. It is designed
to meet their special needs and respond to their specific interests. It is like a care package that

As what I have learned in this lesson, curriculum innovation pertains to designing
new learning experiences through experimenting the curriculum and instructions. It is
also define as a new knowledge about curriculum which sheltered a quality education for
every learner.
It is designed based on content standards as explicated by experts in the field
(Glatthornetal, 1998).
It is standards-based curriculum that focuses on knowledge or content standards
that covered the conceptual strands to be enhanced by every student. Second is the skills
standards that strengthening the skills and abilities of students. Third one and last,
dispositions where student s are taught and motivated to embrace the positive learning
towards different and several experiences of their lives and respond with positivity.
