Piston with modified skirt


Engine type D628

Subject Introduction of a piston with a new type of skirt, applicable for engines with
compression ratio 1:11.7 and 1:13.

Background A piston with a redesigned skirt has been introduced to reduce the oil
consumption. This piston will be the latest standard for the D628.

The figures 1a and b show, as example, the old and modified piston for an
engine with compression ratio 1:13.

The old and modified piston can be used together inside of one installation.

Instruction The table below shows the conversion from “old” to “new” pistons. Depending
of the configuration of the installation the correct piston can be ordered.
