Couplings shall bp classified by the combination of symbol for permissi-
ble value of deviation petween the centre lines of two shafts and that for
static torsion spring cpnstant, as given in Table 1.

4.1 Couplings shall be free from such defects as flaws, cracks and
fissures in which would adversely affect their use.
4.2 Couplings shall transmit the normal torque (7) given in Attached
Table and shall have gufficient life.
4.3 Permissible values of deviation in alignment of the centre lines of
two shafts and the static torsion spring constant of the coupling shall be as
given in Table 2.

f Inspection The inspection of couplings shall be
classified into type Ingpection(®) and acceptance inspection(®).
The sampling inspection plan, when used for the type inspection and
inspection,| shall be determined by the agreement between the
acceptance
parties concerned.
Notes
CO The
prod
ype inspection is to determine whether the quality of
iets satisfy all of the designed characteristics.
() Acceptance inspection is an inspection carried out, upon

lelivery of products of the same design and of the
manufacture as those which have already passed the
inspection, to determine whether or not they satisfy
equired characteristics.
