Attachment 1 Lucent

This document provides specifications for an optical fiber cable for duct and direct buried laying. The cable contains 18 ribbons each with 12 fibers, for a total of 216 fibers. It has an outer sheath of HDPE and includes strength members, armor, ripcords, and a water blocking tape. Each ribbon and fiber is uniquely identified. The cable can operate between -40°C to +70°C and is rated for tensile loads up to 2700N. It was designed for use with various fiber types and optical specifications vary by fiber.
