The document provides instructions for constructing 2D drawings in AutoCAD using basic tools like lines, circles, arcs, and polylines. It outlines a procedure where the user will: 1) Open AutoCAD and save a file with a specific naming convention, 2) Construct 5 figures (Figures 1.1 to 1.5) in the same drawing file using lines and polylines, where each figure anchors to a labeled point placed at given coordinate values. The figures will be drawn consecutively in the same file to practice basic AutoCAD drawing tools.

DRAWING BASICS
OBJECTIVE
To construct 2d drawings in the drafting and annotation workspace using lines, circles, arcs,
polylines, rectangles, polygons, splines, and ellipses.

APPLICATION
AutoCAD

PROCEDURE
1. Open AutoCAD software.
2. Save file in your folder with your course and section, name, and plate number (Course
Section, Surname, First Name, Middle Initial. Plate Number).
3. Turn Logfile on.
4. Construct Figure 1.1 using line tool, given the coordinate of each point.
5. In the same drawing file as Figure 1.1 use the Line tool construct Figure 1.2, with point X at
(200,200).
6. In the same drawing file as the first 2 figures, draw Figure 1.3, with point Z at (-500,-500).
7. Still in the same drawing file as the figures 1.1 to 1.3, construct Figure 1.4, having point Y at
(100,-100).
8. In the same drawing files as the first 4 drawings, construct Figure 1.5 using polyline, having
point W at (-100,100).

Coordinates for Figure 1.1:
A=(100,100), B=(105,100), C=(105,102), D=(109,102),E=(109,104),
