Define literature
Literature is a word used to describe written and some time spoken
material.literature is most commonly refer to the work of creative
imagination.it should take you from a real world to the world of
imagination.it should provide you aesthetic pleasure.pieces of writing
that are valued as a work of art .
Components of literature
Especially dramas, novels,poetry,fiction,non-fiction and its some
instances journalizm and song
Basics types of literature
• Basically there are two types of literature.
1. Oral literature
2. Written literature
Define oral literature
Most simply- Oral literature refers to any form of verbal arts .which is
transmitted orally or delivered by word of mouth
Few examples of oral literature.
1. Folk tale
2. Legend
3. Myth

Written Literature
• Written literature is the form of human expression
through writing. That is to say, it is a literature which is
expressed or conveyed through written forms. Unlike
oral literature, this kind of literature began with the invention
of writing
• The three main genres of written literature are:
• 1.Prose (Novels and short stories)
• 2. Drama (playa), and.
• 3.Poetry
