Guidelines to students to access

Mechanical Virtual Labs


1.How to login to portal:

Step 1: Enter the URL https://idams.bits-pilani.ac.in/ as shown below.


Select Option to Login

• Step 2: Click on Sign-in as an external user


Enter OTP sent to your BITS email address

• Step 3: After clicking on the Submit button, you need to Enter the OTP as shown below and
click on Complete
Register with Details

• Complete the registration with your details


Course Page

• Step 4: After entering your details click on courses page.


Select Course

• Step 5: Select Desired course from the Courses page.


Resources if any applicable to course and Practice Button

• Step 6: After selecting desired course it will move to Current Resources (if it is applicable it
is visible and click to access) page where you can view the resources. Further click on
Practice Course button.
Available Application

• Step 7: After Clicking on Practice Course button you will be redirected to Applications page.
Application Selection

• Step 8: Select the Application which you want to access.


Submit Button to select application

• Step 9: After selecting the course click on Submit button.


Selection of Date for using the tool

• Step 10: Select the desired date in the calendar to book your slot as shown below.
Slot Selection

• Step 11: After selecting the desired Date, select the suitable Slot Timing and click Submit
button.
Confirmation of slot selection

• Step 12: Once your slot is confirmed a message will be displayed saying “Slot booked
successfully” as shown below.
Access the lab

• Step 12: Select the Access lab tab and click on Access lab button to access your slot booked
course.
Course wise booked slot

• Step 13: Select your Desired course for which you have booked the slot to access the lab.
Allow access

• Step 14: Click on ALLOW button as shown below.


Web RDP redirection

• Step 15: After Click on Allow button, you will be logged in to Web RDP.
GARGI Support

• Chat with Gargi Support for any connectivity issues and portal related issues. Support is
available from 4.30 am -12.30 midnight as shown below
Access the lab and complete the work

• Once the desktop page has been loaded with your selected applications, you can start using your desired
application.
• Please note that slot is of 2 hours only
• Use stable internet minimum of 1 mbps speed
• Follow instructions of taking screenshots given by faculty
• Keep saving the work after some interval
• Slot cancellation is not allowed
