        1. The first thing to do is cut the pieces for the bookshelf as shown
        in the Cutting Diagram. Take extra care to ensure the length of the
        shelf, top, bottom, is the same for all.

                                                      4. Now you’ll drill pocket holes in one of the side
                                                      pieces (Part ‘A’) as shown in the drawing. The key

                                                      rails in the face frame just below the shelf.

                                                      5. Use the Kreg Right Angle Clamp or a bar clamp
                                                      to position the side on the face frame as you drive
                                                      the pocket hole screws. You want the outside edge
                                                      of the face frame and side (Part 'A') to be flush with

                                                                                 7. Attach the three shelves to the side piece as shown on the left.
                                                                                 Keep the top edge of the shelf flush with the top edge of the
                                                                                 horizontal rail as you drive the screws.
                                                                                 8. Set the other side piece (Part ‘A’) in position and fasten it to the face

                                                                                 to keep the shelf flush with the top edge of each rail as you go.

                                                             10. All that’s left is to make the top. To do this, cut the
                                                             three boards for the top to rough size. Arrange them

                                                             through the case top from inside.
                                                             13. The last thing to do is attach the 1⁄4"
                                                 H           plywood panel on the back with small nails.
                                                                 Finishing Up
                                                                 By building this bookcase, you've learned a lot of basic woodworking skills
                                                                 that you can put to use in other projects. With these skills, you can build a
                                                                 variety of bookcases. Make them taller or wider. Make several small ones
                                                                 and stack them. Or experiment with different materials and finishes.
                                                                 You're limited only by your imagination!
