Rubric of Electric Charge

This document provides a rubric for assessing student skills in Newtonian mechanics at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. It evaluates skills in six areas: using Coulomb's law to solve problems; reading to identify types of electric charges; critical thinking to determine conduction and induction; writing to make predictions about charges; questioning and reasoning about how charges interact; and investigating by designing models using the law of conservation of charge. At the beginner level, students demonstrate partial understanding with help. At the intermediate level, students work independently but with some confusion. At the advanced level, students demonstrate comprehensive understanding by independently verifying answers and applying scientific reasoning.
