troubleshooting guidelines shall be submitted after order.

2.0 Design Requirements

2.1. Fire Water Main Pump

Add to this clause:

26) The diesel engine cooling water piping which is tapped from the pump discharge (within the pump vendor
scope) and the heat exchanger, shall have the same design pressure as pump MAWP. The cooling
water piping shall be Cu-Ni alloy.

27) The design pressure of pump should be at least equal or higher than downstream fire water piping / fire
water network.

2.2. Diesel Engine

Add to this clause:

Engine exhaust shall be routed to a safe height above the engine (min 5m above engine to be
considered) outside the fire water pump shelter.
2.3. Coupling and Guard

Add to this clause:

Coupling shall be balanced to ISO 1940 G6.3 as a minimum.

2.4. Fuel Day Tank

Add to this clause:

The diesel filling connection line shall be accessible from grade level. The quick coupling for the filling
point shall also be supplied by the Vendor (loose supply).
The tank shall have overfill line (2”).
All tank mounted instruments shall be designed to function safely for a max. black bulb temperature of
82 degC.
Fuel day tank “low fuel transmitter” and level gauge shall be supplied by the Vendor.
Fuel level indication shall be required at two-third tank level or six hours operation (maximum of these
two criteria).
2.5. Piping

Add the following point:

8) All skid edge termination points, including pump suction and discharge, shall be flanged and conform to
ASME B16.5. All flanges shall have be raised face (RF). The same shall be applicable for the loose
supply items as well (RVs, sight glass, pipe fittings etc.).

2.6. Noise Control

Amend this clause:

The noise levels of all equipment shall not exceed the limits as specified in DEP 31.10.00.31-Gen. The
maximum permissible noise level (sound pressure level) from each pump package shall not exceed 85
dBA when measured at a distance of 1m from the equipment. VENDOR shall define the equipment noise
limitation as per applicable standard to guarantee that sound power levels and sound pressure levels of
the equipment are within an acceptable level.

In case the above limit cannot be met for the diesel engine, Vendor may propose noise enclosure, which
shall be subject to Purchaser’s approval. Enclosure (if required) shall be provided with suitably sized
extraction fan (for ventilation). The power supply for the same shall be taken from the LCP. Also, fire and
gas detector shall be provided in diesel engine enclosure, for alarm purpose.

2.7. Electrical

Add to this clause:

The 6.6 kV fire water pump controller shall be suitable for installation at site (under sunshade).

2.8. Control & Automation

Add to this clause:

8) For Diesel engine driven fire water pump, the LCP shall preferably be mounted with anti-vibration mounts
on the same skid as the pump and engine.

9) Sunshades shall be provided for all field mounted electronic instruments and enclosures housing
electronic components. The same shall be provided for other instruments if required to meet the ambient
temperature conditions. Sunshade material shall be GRP or SS and all the mounting accessories shall
be of SS316 material.
