Test III: Essay
1. As a student, what can you do to stop gender inequality at
home, in school and in other places? Explain briefly.
Gender inequality often starts at home, because home is where
the heart is. Yet it is also the first place where children are
socialized according to gender roles, beliefs and stereotypes.
From the moment babies are born, our allocated gender (male
or female) instantly starts to define how we should be handled,
which advantages we should really be given or what we should
act according to dominant gender roles in our society. So as a
student, by raising awareness of my fellow women about on
how to build their self-confidence and make an action to
transform the structures and institutions that reinforce and
perpetuate gender discrimination and inequality are important
tools for empowering women and girls to claim their rights.
2. If you are a law maker what law or laws will you propose to
promote the equality of sexes and remove the discrimination of
women in society?
Law about Discrimination of Women
The aim of this law is to reduce discrimination against
women and encourage equality for my fellow women,
thus strengthening the rights of women, especially in
working career. Another aim of the laws is to prohibit
discrimination based on race of sexual orientation or
ethnic speech
