2. This may take up to 20 minutes from image start

SAS Management Console (SMC)

• SAS Management Console or SMC, often also referred to simply as metadata is a Java
application that provides a single point of control for administering your SAS servers and for
managing metadata objects
• In SMC we will use Application Management for example to add Custom Details section, to
add user defined data to the screens in the UI
• The SMC User interface includes a Plug‐ins tab, a Folders tab, and a Search tab
• Plugins are application modules designed to create and maintain metadata
• Data Library Manager creates and and maintain the definitions for SAS libraries and
database
• User Manager allows and system admin resource to create and maintain definitions for
users, group, roles and capabilities

DI Studio Folders & Transformation

• The Folders tree is one of the tree views in the left panel of the desktop. It displays
metadata for objects registered on the metadata server, such as jobs, tables and libraries.
• The Objects have been organized by Tenants BANK1BU and BANK2BU – DI jobs are in Jobs
folder
• A transformation is a metadata object that specifies how to extract data, transform data, or
load data into data stores.
• Each transformation that you specify in a process flow diagram generates or retrieves SAS
code. user‐written code can be added to any transformation/or as a separate
transformation in a process flow diagram.
