Man's Search For God With Introduction To The Catholic Faith

Here are 3 possible responses to the questions: 1. No, questioning traditional creedal expressions does not destroy one's faith. Faith is a personal experience of the divine that can be expressed in different yet equally valid ways. Referring to God as both Father and Mother reflects the understanding that God transcends human gender. 2. I once helped a friend in need despite it going against a rule. Doing what my conscience told was right felt more important than rigidly following the letter of any law. Faith is about living with compassion, not blind obedience to external commands. 3. At the Eucharist, we enact the Last Supper, remember Christ's sacrifice, and celebrate our communion with God and each other.

Six Components of a Religion

1. Some Christians question the traditional creedal
expression that calls God Father,. They feel that
God should be addressed as Mother and Father.
Does it mean that the faith of such Christians have
been destroyed?
2. In front of many Church buildings, we see a replica
of the Ten Commandments. We are told to follow
strictly this “law of God.” Share an experience in
which you realized that faith is more than just
following the letter of the law.
3. The Eucharist is the heart of Christian worship or
religious ceremonies. What do we enact,
remember, and celebrate at the Eucharist?
