Dear Room 19 Families,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Miss Alana
Esshaki, and I will be Mr. Cichowicz’s student teacher for the 2020 – 2021 school year.
Specifically, during the fall, I will be participating in a pre-student teaching field placement. I
will be in the classroom at least once a week. During this time, I will be learning the fifth-
grade routines, procedures, and curriculum. In January, I will transition into my full-time
student teaching internship.

Since I will be spending a lot of time with your child, I want you to know a few things
about me. I have lived in Rochester Hills my entire life, and I currently attend Oakland
University. In May 2021, I will graduate with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary
Education with an endorsement in language arts. Throughout my time at Oakland University, I
participated in both rigorous coursework and a variety of field experiences. These experiences
have enabled me to gain the skillset of a highly effective educator. In addition to working in
the classroom with children, I have been a nanny for seven years. Being a nanny helped me
learn how to forge deep and meaningful relationships with children of all ages.

Along with my passion to help children learn and grow as individuals, I am very
passionate about health and fitness. I enjoy researching and reading up on new findings in
regards to health. I love starting my mornings off by going on a run and listening to some type
of uplifting and/or health informative podcast.

I am so excited to get to know your child! I know this school year will look different,
but my priority will always be to help your child succeed whether we are in person or virtual.
Let’s make this unique school year the best one yet!

Sincerely,
Miss Alana Esshaki
