Tangub City Hymn

The poem describes the founding of the city of Tangub by early settlers who came from the bay of Panguil, guided by God and seeking adventure. They were led by the ancestors of Lapu-Lapu and Dagohoy and named the land Tangub, which they enjoyed. Tangub blossomed as they developed the land, with the mountain Malindang watching over its growth into a renowned city on the shores of Panguil Bay.

I.

From the mashes of Panguil Bay

Along its tiny southern quay

Wafted by the winds of adventure and fortune

Guided by God and destiny

Came the sire of Lapu-Lapu and Dagohoy

And to their land their hands employ

With hearts and mind attuned

Calling Tangub the land they enjoy

Tangub blossomed as rose by the bay

While Malindang watched

With welcome glee

The growth and progress on display

Tangub a dream, Tangub a town

Tangub a city forever renowned.

With thy loyal sons endeavor it to be.

With generations to behold and see

A mystic city by the side of Panguil Bay
