SLAC on Conducting Classroom Based Action Research
Day Two (June 29, 2018)
The school conducted a two-day SLAC Session on Conducting Classroom-Based Action
Research on June 20 and 29, 2018. This was held at the ICT Room and attended by all teaching
personnel of MVES. This seminar generally aimed to enhance the basic skills of teachers in
conducting action research in their respective classroom.
On the second day, the seminar started with an inspirational message of our School Head, Mr.
Cirilo C. Caborales, Jr. In his message he gave emphasis on the importance and benefits of conducting
classroom research. This was immediately followed by the presentation of Ma’am Elsa Bumatay
about the process of conceptualizing and conducting research.
Sir Benjie M. Manila presented the parts of research under the methods. This includes the
method to be used, participants, sampling, data gathering procedure and the appropriate statistical
tools to be used for a given research problem.
After the presentation of topics, a workshop immediately followed. Participants were asked to
write their research proposals including the instruments needed and some attachments. Facilitators
assisted the teachers in writing their proposals.
