You have been asked to provide a reference for a friend who has applied for a job as an
art instructor at Creative Camps for children between the ages of 6 and 10. The
successful candidate must be over 18, should be friendly and approachable, good with
children, enthusiastic and artistic, with good skills in drawing and pottery.

Include information about your friend’s character, skills, previous experience and reasons
why they should be considered for this job.

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to recommend Antonio Marin for the position of art instructor at


Creative Camps. Antonio is now 22 years old and I have known him for over 5 years
during which time he has been working as one of the activity instructors and group leaders
at the Summer Art School where I am the supervisor.

Antonio is mature, reliable and extremely patience. He is totally involved with


children’s education in our school where his positive and friendly attitude make him
stablish strong relationships with people of all ages. His passion and commitment to our
values always stands up in every one of his actions.

In addition, Antonio is a skilled ceramic artist. This year he has just finished the
ceramic art program in the local Institute of Art. Last year he also took a teacher training
program in art education that allowed him to improve his teaching and communication
skills.

He has plenty of experience in all the aspects of making ceramic, from the drawing
of the initial designs to the final piece. More important, year by year Antonio has been
working with children in our Summer Art School. There, he has helped young students to
develop their imagination, creativity and confidence.
For these reasons, Antonio offer both qualifications and experience, making him an
ideal candidate for the position of art instructor.

In summary, I am confident that Antonio would be a great asset to Creative Camps
