Ruby is from Hong Kong. She started learning piano at the age of 4, studying
with a Chinese piano teacher, An Ling (who studied in St Petersberg), for 6
years. She got distinction for ABRSM Grade 5 in 2013, Merit for Grade 7 and 8
in 2015 and passed ATCL in 2017. Besides examinations, Ruby also had
serveral piano competition experiences over the years in Hong Kong. She
came first in 67th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival in 2015 in the Graded
solo piano catergory, won first prizes in both Romantic and Etude catergories
at the 10th ZhongSin International Music Competition in 2016, and awarded
with a chance of including her recordings with other winners into a CD, and
more. After moving to the UK, Ruby studies in Wells Cathedral School and is
currently studying piano with Olena Shvetsova. Ruby participated in Mid
Somerset Music Fesitivals, went into the finals for EPTA competition and the
first round in BBC Young Musician.
