Introduction:
The topic annihilation of Islamic traditions is one of the most severe challenges faced by the
Muslims nowadays. It’s so heartbreaking to see that the Islamic traditions are not being
followed as they used to be. Muslims are targeted now globally all over the world. The
non-Muslim communities are continuously trying to destroy and alter the Islamic rituals
and beliefs. But we cannot say that the non-Muslim efforts are all in vain because
annihilation of Islamic tradition can be seen in every aspect. The impact of non-Muslim
efforts can be seen is that we have become materialized men and doesn’t care about
traditions and this has become a normal thing in our so called “busy lives”.
Recitation of Holy Quran
We all know that Quran is a Holy book of Allah and it is a source of guidance for all of us, but
the question is that do we really follow it? Because if we actually read Quran, it would not
be placed in our cabinets unopened and get covered with dust. In the present time most of
the people in our society only recite Quran when there is a death in the family.
Abdullah ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him,
said, “Verily, the parable of the companion of the Quran is that of a tied camel. If he is
committed to it, he will keep it. If he releases it, he will lose it.” Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhari 4743,
Ṣaḥiḥ Muslim 789
Modern Women’s Requirement
The hottest debate in this present time is that women demand “equal rights”. They
demand that they should be given the right to do whatever they want according to their
own will. Dressing of women remains one of the highlighted issuesToday the more your
body is exposed, the more “modern” you are.
Allah says in the Quran
O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw
their cloaks (veils) over their bodies (when outdoors). That is most convenient that they
should be known and not molested."

In the past the Muslims married the widows and divorced women willingly because they
knew that it was their responsibility to take care of them. However, nowadays men prefer to
marry young unmarried girls as according to them a widow or a divorcee is not considered
respectable by our society and brings disgrace to the family. Islam had no concept of taking
dowry from the girl’s family rather it commanded the husband to pay Mahr to protect the
girl financially. But nowadays most of the girls cannot get married simply because their
parents can’t afford to give dowry.
The Quran says
“And give them (the women that you marry) their compensation as an obligation.”

Giving Charity
Allah has ordered Muslims to give charity to the poor and needy so that a balance in society
is maintained. But it is not being the case in these times. Giving charity has become a source
of show off for most of the people. They take pictures while giving charity and post it on
social media. Rather being a source of comfort they are a source of dejection and degrading.

"There are seven whom Allah will shade on the Day of Judgement…”
He went on to mention six of them and finally concluded by saying:
“…A man who gives in charity and hides it, such that his left hand does not know what his
right hand gives in charity”

Respect of Elders
It is one of the most important aspects which build a community but has now disappeared
from our society. There is no tolerance in the society even for our own elders. We can see
that even the parents are not given the level of respect they deserve.
The Prophet said: He does not belong to us who does not show mercy to our young ones
and respect to our old ones, who does not recommend what is reputable and prohibit
what is disreputable. (Tirmidhi).
Honesty
Honesty was associated with Muslims for a very long time. We see that in a country like
Indonesia (largest Muslim country), Islam came because of the honesty of the Muslim
traders.
Allah Almighty said:
لصَقادين
ِ َّ ا َ ُوك ُونوا َ َمع َ ُاتَّقوا هَّللا َُنآموا ِ َّا َلذين ُّ ََياأه َاي
O you who have faith, fear Allah and be with those who are true.

They used to tell the defects of their goods and then sell it. But this has not been the case
now. Now we see Muslims cheating and doing fraud with each other in almost every aspect
of life. It has been very difficult to trust our own fellow Muslim brothers and sisters. In this
situation of corona virus, we see that many people show themselves as needy and store the
items they get in charity.

Leadership
In the Muslim history the leaders have always been a role model for their people, where our
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the greatest example. They took care of all the needs of their
people. The public could approach them easily and narrate their problems and those found
guilty were held accountable for their actions. It is reported that almost all of the people
were not eligible for zakat at the time of Hazrat Umar (RA) as he had brought prosperity and
righteousness amongst his people.
On the other hand, our leaders have adopted a completely opposite lifestyle. They have
their own protocols which is the reason of loss of many innocent lives which can be seen at
various occasions.

Role of Entertainment Channels

The Entertainment channels greatly influence their viewers and are responsible for the
change in the society. They are capable of trending the new fashions and can divert the
mentality of the youth especially.
Out of these several shows there are only a few which gives knowledge about deen whereas
most of the channels only focus to show the latest fashion trend and discuss the life of
celebrities and actors. This has influenced many young girls and boys in a negative way as
they try to blindly follow the celebrities. We can see their double faces during the Ramadan
transmission which is very heart breaking.
Pakistani Entertainment Channels:
Now-a-days, Pakistani entertainment channels have the great influence on the people
especially youth. They are affecting and guiding the people in both positive and negative
ways. There are many channels which provide entertainment in the form of different
morning shows and drama serials. PEMRA is the national department which control the
broadcasting of electronic media.
Morning Shows:
Morning shows are affecting very much our women. Morning shows are usually hosted by a
female person who doesn’t care about the teachings of Islam. She is just doing her job to get
the ratings which will guide the people in wrong way. Often, the host arranges marriages
and do some hindus rituals.
. Drama Serials:
Drama serials are also leading the people to the wrong way. Because of these shows Islamic
traditions are ending in Pakistan. Sometimes, they perform acts and rituals which are
against the Islam. So, these shows should be stopped for the sake of ideology of Pakistan.
Ramadan Transmissions:
Few years ago, Ramadan used to happen peacefully and everyone spent his time in the
prayers and in the repentance of his sins. But then the Ramadan transmission started to
happen which was supposed to guide people and tell them about Islam but that didn’t go in
that way. Although, they provide the information about Islam but they keep their viewers
watching their transmission and spend the whole time watching it. They don’t let people to
offers prayer because their influence is too much on the them.

Conclusion and Recommendations

Quran should be read regularly in our homes and we should try to read it with
meaning so that we could understand the word of God.
Modern Women want their lives which depend on their own and their slogan is
“Mera jism meri marzi”. These women should study about the life of Hazrat Fatima
(R. A). Because Hazrat Fatima (R.A) is the role model for these women.
“And for Women are rights over men, similar to those of men over women”
Islam has told men and women to be modest to each other. It is one of the innate
characteristic of a Muslim.
As the Holy Prophet SAW says:
“If a women passes by in front of you,lower your eyes until she has passed by.”
And at other place it is said for women that
“O prophet tell your wives and daughters and the women of believers to draw their cloak
over their bodies”
Al-Ahzaab 33:59
Islam also emphasizes on brotherhood. The brotherhood preaches that Islam will
bring social justice, the eradication of poverty, corruption and sinful behavior. Also
when Holy Prophet SAW migrated to Medina he created the brotherhood between
the muhajireen and ansaar. In this bond these two groups eradicated all differences
and were declared as brothers.
As Allah says in Quran:
“The believers are but brothers, so make reconciliation between your brothers and fear
Allah that you may receive mercy.”

The Holy prophet SAW also said:
“The Muslims are like a single man. If the eye is afflicted, then the whole body is afflicted
then the whole body is afflicted.”
Source: Sahih muslim 2856.
Salah means “prayer” or “namaz” which have been obligatory on Muslims five times
a day. It is one of the pillars of Islam. The word Salah is used 82 times in the Quran.
But now Muslims are so much busy in their life that they don’t notice the prayers
time and keep on doing their work.

It is narrated from Abu-Hurairah that Holy prophet SAW said
“I was thinking of ordering that the call to prayer to be given, then I would tell a man to
lead the people in prayer, and I would out with men carrying bundles of wood to people
who do not come to prayers, I would burn their houses with fire around them.”
In this critical time when most of the people are helpless due to coronavirus we see
that Sindh government is doing corruption in the ‘Ehsaas Program’ to donate money
to the poor families as initiated by Prime Minister of Pakistan.
When the month of Ramadan comes host gets the dupatta on her head and invites
some molvis means Islamic persons to tell them about the Islam. And these molvis
are also dumb and blind that they don’t even guide her to the right path because
they are incapable to do that. And when the Ramadan ends, dupatta disappears and
start doing the wrong deeds.
