For this activity, you can turn off your cameras, so you can give yourself a little bit of a break
from the screen.

Don’t look at the screen, just focus on the sounds.

I’m gonna be playing to you 10 simple sounds.

You can type your answers in the chat.

Good afternoon everyone!

Before we learn on basic video editing, let us first have a little activity.

My name is Cheska, and I’m gonna be playing a fun little activity with you to get in touch with
sounds- which also serves as a little teaser to how sound is a very important element to video
editing.

So..here’s how it works.

So right now, let’s all turn off our cameras. Keep the sound on.
So let’s all do that right now.
Great! So now, the screen is black, and you can just hear me but you can’t actually see me. So
what I’m going to do is I’m gonna be playing to you 5 simple sounds.

What I want you to do is to is to see whether you can recognize the sounds. Guess the sounds
and I’m going to be asking you to write them down or jot them in your mind as the sounds are
playing. Don’t answer yet. When the activity is over, I’m going to be asking you to reveal your
answers.

Simple as that? Okay. I’m going to be playing 5 different sounds. Here it goes.

Excellent! Okay, turn on your cameras again. There we are! Alright so, you’ve got the answers
already. Don’t show it to us yet. How many did you think you got right? Are people feeling
pretty confident? Okay, on 3. I want you to chat your answers. Here we go, 1, 2, 3. Okay, if you
weren’t able to write it down, you can chat type it in the chat below. No cheating (laughs)

Ohhh wow, you guys seem like you know this very well.

Okay, let’s try this one again. Let’s see how many sounds you can get right and this round is
going to be a little bit harder than before.

So, first of all, turn off your cameras over there.


Get nice and comfortable.
Make sure you get in a good position where you can focus on what you hear.
You can close your eyes while listening if you want to be super focused. It is up to you,
whatever works for you.
Now, I’m going to be playing you 5 sounds again.
Now, this time, there might be a little distortion in the background.
I’m going to be playing the sounds three times just like before.
So here it goes…

Okay, excellent! Well done! You can now turn on your cameras. If you’re not yet finished
writing, you can finish it now. So you have your cameras on already. Are you guys ready to
reveal your answers. 1, 2, 3. Let’s have a look. Not too bad, not too bad. You’ve got a bunch of
answers right. High five yourself. High five your other hand. Well done!

I want to thank everyone for playing this game and for participating in this activity. I hope that
