Effective contact tracing remains as one of the key activities to stop the
chain of virus transmission. contact Tracing is the process of identifying,
assessing, and managing people who have been exposed to a diseaie io
prevent onward transmission. When systematically applied, contact
tracing will break the chain of transmission of an infectious disease and is
thus an essential public health tool for controlling infectious disease
outbreaks.

To ensure uniformity and standardized process on contact tracing are


executed, the Department of the lnterior and Local Government and the
Department of Health, in partnership with the World Health Organization
are pleased to provide you the CONTACT TRAGING HANDBOOK FOR
COVID.19 ..A HANDBOOK FOR LOGAL CONTACT TRACTNG TEAM"

This handbook is inspired from the OPERATION LISTO concept which


provides a step-by-step, quick reference guide for all contact tracers, as
well as the LGUs, on the contact tracing processes and procedures. lt is
encouraged that all contact tracers use this as a reference guide when
