In the present, Bangsamoro has transformed for good.

There were conflicts and


violence in Bangsamoro region as seen in the Marawi Siege 2017 and in clan feuds that
impact local politics and its weak governance in the prior autonomous government. The
official inauguration of the BARMM in March 2019 aims to build up peace and stability after
decades of violence that makes the area impoverished and killed thousands of its residents. On
its second anniversary, President Rodrigo Duterte gave orders to all relevant government
agencies to give full support to BARMM given this pandemic crisis. The government has
assured that they would continue to advocate for self-determination, preservation of human
rights and aims for a peaceful and progressive region.   Moreover, an action taken by the
government is the signed Organic Law for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim
Mindanao which aims to bring peace to our Muslim brothers by addressing their demands,
grievances and sentiments. The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) had handed over its
weapons for peace making. In this, there is strengthened collaboration among the people and
the government to cease disputes for attaining a peaceful and resilient Bangsamoro
community.
