Cordyceps Cs-4 Mushroom Mycelia:
Cordyceps Cs-4 is an all-natural fermentation product derived from the principle Cordyceps
fungal mycelia, Paecilomyces hepialid Chen and fermented on a soy or protein based liquid
nutrient. Cordyceps’ long history of use in Asia demonstrates an impressive safety record. Of
all the medicinal mushrooms in China, Cordyceps is the most prized. It has been used safely
for at least 1,000 years.  The Cs-4 strain has been used by millions since 1989. It is a rare
type of mushroom found at altitudes of 9,000 to 16,000 feet in the high mountain grasslands
of Tibet and Southwestern China.  Using cell culture technology, it can be grown as a
fermented product which is just as effective if not more so than the rare wild cordyceps. We
have exclusive rights to the Cs-4 strain outside of China.
 
Pomegranate (Punica granatum) Fruit Extract:
Pomegranate is a fruit-bearing shrub or small tree. The pomegranate extract used in ageLOC
vitality is patented. It was selected for its unique properties with gene modulation as it relates
to the mitochondria.  It uses a proprietary extraction process. Pomegranate (Punica
granatum) is a native plant of Northern Africa and the Caucasian Mountains and is widely
distributed throughout the southern United States. The name pomegranate comes from the
Latin “pomum” meaning apple, and “granatus” meaning full of seeds. Pomegranates were
known as the “fruit of the dead” in ancient Greek mythology, and pomegranate adorned the
vestments of the high priest in ancient Hebrew tradition. For the ancient Chinese,
pomegranate seeds symbolized longevity and immortality (Avirum, 2000).
 
Pharmanex Asian Ginseng Rb1 (Panax ginseng) Root Extract:
Ginseng is a distinct species of slow-growing plants with roots. The name panax is the genus
which belongs to the family araliaceae. It grows mostly in Eastern Asia. It is well-known and
has been used for centuries. No other company has access to our extraction process.  Our
ginseng extract is a proprietary ginseng extract with a balance of biological activity not found
in other ginseng extracts. Thus, this extract along with the other ingredients are not
stimulants.  The inclusion of ginseng and the other ingredients were all selected based on
gene modulation.

Microcrystalline Cellulose:
Cellulose is a naturally occurring component found in cell walls of plants. Microcrystalline
Cellulose is a nonfibrous form of cellulose from plants (normally tree bark is used). In this
form it is used in dry applications such as tableting, and capsules where it functions as a non-
nutritive filler, binder, flow aid, anti-caking agents, and stabilizer.
 
Stearic Acid:
Stearic Acid is smooth and insoluble in water. Stearic acid is widely used and is the most
abundant fatty acid in Western diets. It is naturally found in meats, coconut oil, and cocoa
butter. It works as a binder in order to keep the tablet and ingredients together in tablet form.
It also helps as a surfactant, and lubricant, and it helps to prevent oxidation.
 
Silicon Dioxide:
Silicon Dioxide is one of many flow agents. It is also an anti-caking agent, a carrier, and a
dispersant.  It is widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industry. Silicon Dioxide can
absorb approximately 120% of its weight and remain free flowing. 
 
Capsule (Gelatin, Titanium Dioxide)
 
Gelatin
Pharmanex follows the U.S.P. XXIV standards for disintegration for oil and water-soluble
vitamin capsules and tablets for all products that use gelatin capsules or tablets. U.S.P. XXIV
stands for United States Pharmacopoeia Revision 24. This standard requires that the capsule
dissolve within thirty minutes and the tablet dissolve within forty-five minutes. Pharmanex
only uses gelatin capsules and tablets, which adhere to the U.S.P. XXIV standards.
 
Titanium dioxide
The form of Titanium Dioxide used in ageLOC vitality gives the capsule its white color. The
opaque white color from this agent is used to produce opacity. Opacity is the degree to which
light is allowed to travel through, thus, it can protect against light sensitive actives. To clarify
any misconceptions— titanium dioxide is NOT in the nano form, and this ingredient is
GRAS by the FDA, and is safe at the levels used.  Regular titanium dioxide is not absorbed in
your digestive system.
