Linear/curvilinear terminal
-Simplest & Most straight-forward.
-Consists of a single passenger processing area
Pros : -shortest walking distance
- simple construction
- lower baggage system costs
cons : - duplication of terminal facilities
finger pier terminal
A pier design uses a small, narrow
building with aircraft parked on both
sides
Pros :- simplicity in design
- high aircraft capacity
- economic to build
- efficient use of land
cons:- Compare to linear, it increases
passenger walking distances
- reduced aircraft circulation and
maneuverability
Satellite terminal
-It is completely surrounded by aircraft.
- Connected to the processing areas of the
terminal via underground
Pros: - centralized resources
cons: -requires high technology ,
underground transportation
systems
-high maintenance & operating
costs
Transporter terminal
It provides a complete separation of
passenger facilities from those required
to service and maintain the aircraft.
Aircraft are remotely located from the
terminal and uses buses to drop off the
passengers on the apron
Pros : -ease of aircraft manoeuvrabilty
- simple and smaller terminal
- ease of future expansions
cons : -high maintenance & operating costs
