2012 年高考英语模拟试题七
(听力材料)
(Text 1)
M: Mary, it’s better to wait until Friday to leave. Don’t you agree?
W: I couldn’t agree more.
(Text 2)
M: Alice, turn down the TV! Can’t you see I am talking on the phone?
W: Oh, sorry, Dad. I didn’t notice that you were making a call.
(Text 3)
M: Could you give me some coins for this one-dollar bill, please?
W: Sorry. I’m rather short of coins myself now.
(Text 4)
M: What time did the football game kick off yesterday?
W: Well, it was supposed to start at a quarter to eight, but it was delayed an hour.
M: Well, do you know the score?
W: No. I went to sleep instead of watching it.
(Text 5)
W: Sir, is there still time for me to have a drink on this flight?
M: Yes, but you’ll have to drink it fast because we’ll be landing in a second.
W: OK. A cup of coffee, please.
M: Please wait for a moment.
(Text 6)
W: Hello. This is the Sun Building Office in Shanghai. Can I help you?
M: Hi, this is Tom in New York. Is Mr. Cooper there by any chance?
W: I’m afraid not. He is away at a business meeting in Beijing. He’ll be back next Tuesday morning.
M: Oh, well, perhaps I can leave a message for him.
W: Yes, of course. Just a minute. Okay, what’s the message?
M: Well, it’s just this: Could he come to the meeting next Thursday afternoon at 5 pm in New York,
to discuss the new market here?
W: Fine. I’ve got that. I’ll see that he gets the message as soon as he comes back.
(Text 7)
M: Hi, what can I do for you?
W: I’m looking for some scarves.
M: All of our scarves are in this section. What do you think of this one here? It’s made of silk.
W: Um, it looks nice, but I’d like to have something warm for the winter.
M: Maybe you would like a heavy wool scarf. How about this one?
W: I think that’s what I want. How much is it?
M: It’s sixty dollars.
W: That’s a little expensive. Do you think it’s possible to get a discount?
M: Since you like it so much, how about a 10 percent discount? That’s the best I can offer.
W: That’s fine. Could you wrap it for me?
M: Sure.
(Text 8)
M: Lily, I think the movie was great. I loved it.
W: You did? I thought it was terrible.
M: Why? What didn’t you like about it?
W: It seems to have included many elements — mystery, action, and so on. But it just didn’t work.
M: Didn’t you think the plot was good?
W: There were too many details, making it too slow-moving and frustrating.
M: That’s true. But I think they just wanted the characters to have more personality.
W: Anyway, it’s a waste of time seeing a film like this.
M: Don’t you think the acting was quite good?
W: Yes. That was its only good point, in my opinion.
M: Sam Ford, my favorite star, was terrific in the movie.
W: But he still couldn’t save the movie.
(Text 9)
W: Maurice Johnson? I’m the Human Resources Manager of this company. Nice to meet you.
M: Nice to meet you.
W: Could you tell me something about yourself?
M: Yeah. What do you want to know?
W: The usual — you know — something about your background and experience.
M: Well, I was born in New York and went to school there, right up through college. My father is a
doctor and my mother is a lawyer.
W: So you come from a professional family?
M: That’s right. One of my sisters is an engineer and the other one teaches at a university.
W: What made you decide to get into computers?
M: Oh, nothing in particular. I just like it.
W: Can you tell me about your experience? How long have you been working with computers?
M: More than five years now. I started work right after I got my doctor’s degree, I think.
W: It sounds quite impressive. Please send your personal history to me and I’ll show it to the boss.
We’ll get back to you in a week.
M: Thanks for your time.
(Text 10)
Good afternoon! My name’s Carl and I work for one of the major companies on High Street. I’ve
been with them for about 13 years.
People often ask me why I decided to take this job. As a young adult I loved traveling and
worked for a while as a salesman in Spain. When I came back to stay, my experience of working in
tourist centers abroad helped me to get this job. I have to admit that one of the main reasons I
wanted to be a travel agent was that we get cheap flights and holidays. It’s a great advantage!
Basically I’m a salesperson. I advise people on the holiday choices available to them, you
know, different destinations, types of holidays, ways to get there, and so on. When a customer has
decided what he wants, I book it for them and make any other arrangements they may need; for
example, I organize car rentals and group tours. My duties don’t end there, though. If my
customers are flying, I need to tell them what time they have to check in, and make sure they
know what time they will be arriving. I also give information on likely weather conditions and
anything else I think will be useful for them.
