Principal Sr. Joan
St. Bernadette Catholic Academy
1313 83rd Street
Brooklyn, New York 11228
Dear Sr. Joan,
I am interested in applying for an elementary-level teaching position at St. Bernadette Catholic
Academy. As I am approaching graduation in May from St. John’s University, I aspire to work
for a school as accomplished and high achieving as yours. I am confident that my academic
background and curriculum development skills would be successfully utilized in this position.
I am currently in a five-year master’s program for Special Education at St. John’s University. As
we approach May of 2020, I will be graduating with my bachelors. Come spring of 2021 I will
have acquired my Masters with a concentration in English. I will inspire students with my love
and knowledge of great literature. I have experience with working in a variety of elementary
level grades as well as with children who suffer from various disabilities, holding certification
from The National Professional Development Center on Autism Spectrum Disorder.
As an alumni of St. Bernadette I feel my eleven years of time with the school will surely be the
strongest trait of all. It has been a dream of mine to work for the school that I have attended since
Pre-Kindergarten which had implemented the skills and desires I possess to become an educator.
I am currently student teaching in a fourth grade ICT class at P.S./ I.S. 861 of Staten Island, NY.
Student Teaching thus far has strengthened and instilled a greater passion to be the reason the
children of St. Bernadette succeed, not only on paper, but as a whole. Whereas when I began
student teaching there was little desire and motivation for them to progress, my presence has
helped the classroom in its entirety, as I hope to bring passion and drive to each student that I
encounter like the teachers who are responsible for imprinting that in me.
My goal is to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate,
enthusiastic, intelligent teacher who will make a positive contribution to St. Bernadette Catholic
Academy. This will enable me to use St. Bernadette as a temple to grow and learn more, but
instead be helping our school on the other side of the desk. As a result of my eleven years as a
student and St. Bernadette alumni, I would welcome an interview and hope to hear from you at
your earliest convenience, in hope of another decade plus with such a successful institute.
Sincerely,
Ariana M. DiDonato
