Biodiversity

The document discusses biodiversity, which is the variety of life forms found in an ecosystem. It defines three levels of biodiversity: genetic diversity, species diversity, and ecosystem diversity. The document also explains that biodiversity is important for providing ecosystem services like oxygen production, clean air and water, pollination, pest control, and waste treatment.

I have learned that Biodiversity is all the different kinds of

life you'll find in one area, the variety

of animals, plants, fungi, and even

microorganisms like bacteria that make

up our natural world. Each of these

species and organisms work together

in ecosystems, like an intricate web, to

maintain balance and support Ilife.

Biodiversity

Biodiversity is the variety of life forms in an ecosystem that describes how variety living things are in a
specific area. It is very important since it sustains on earth and contributes environmental stability.

"Levels oof Biodiversity"

1.) Genetic Diversity- different genes and combinations of genes within population.

2.)Species diversity- organisms that have the potential to interbreed in nature and produced viable,
Fertive off spring.

3.) Ecosystem diversity- variation in the ecosystem found in a region. ecosystem diversity is an the
different habitats, biological communities, and ecological processes, as well as variation within individual
ecosystem.

Biodiversity is important to humans for many reasons. ecological life support- biodiversity provicles
Functioning ecosystem that supply oxygen, clean air and water, pollination of plants, pest controls waste
water treatment and many ecosystem services.

Species diversity

•species-largest group of organisms capable of inter breeding and producing fertive of spring.

•Diversity- A state of being diverse or variety. A range of different things.

•Species diversity- number of different given community.

*3 types of species*

•endemic speceis- is one whose habitat is restricted to a particular area , often endangered- differs from
"endogenous" or "native" (although it occurs from naturally in an area, is also found in other areas.

•Exotic species- is any species intentionally or accidentally transported and released by man into an
environment outside it's present range.

•cosmopolitan species- partinent or common to the whole world. cosmopolitan distribution can be
observed both in extinct and extant species
