Specification Meter Panel Board
The enclosure shall be made up of CRCA MS sheet of 1.6mm and door of 2 mm thickness and should be
IP 45 protection rating as per IS-13947. The manufacturing process of Box shall be Deep Drawn Process
and powder coating shall be epoxy 65 to 71 micron. The cubical should be completely rust free and
Electrical insulated from outside and inside as well.
Rubber gasket shall be provided in between base and doors, such that it provides proper sealing
between the door and base of box to avoid ingress of water. The doors shall be provided with proper
locking arrangement and handle.
Viewing window shall be provided with toughened glass of 5mm thickness. Glass shall fixed from inside
of the distribution box with glass holder plate made without any welding joint and by draw process.
EC grade Aluminium Neutral Busbar capable of carrying full load current shall be provided for neutral.
Neutral bus bar shall be completely insulated such that no live part is accessible. Neutral Bus bar shall be
isolated with respect to body.
Bus Bar-Size- As per the Current rating, Matrial –EC Grade Aluminium, Mounting of each bus bar- Inside
the fire resistant insulated casing, such that no live part is accessible by hand. Operating Temperature of
Bus bar (θ)=85°C.
Two galvanized earthing bolt shall be welded on both sides of the box. There should be no powder
coating on the earthing clamps. Bolt with washer shall be provided in each earth clamp.
Incoming & outgoing cable holes shall be provided. Cable holes shall be provided with superior quality
rubber cable glands of internal diameter 20mm. Rubber glands shall be made such that internal
diameter of glands provided for cables should be closed with the rubber film of minimum 1mm
thickness. Cable will go through the glands by cutting the film of the glands
Danger marking as per drawing shall be provided on the box in red color.
All the components inside the Box shall be mounted on CRCA MS strips. The mounting strips shall be
provided with required bends or ribs to give the extra strength and shall be powder coated or zinc
plated.
All the screws and washers shall be properly zinc plated.
Routine Test (Carried out on all boxes):
1.Overall Dimensions Checking.
2.Insulation Resistance Tests.
3.High Voltage Test at 2500 V, 50 Hz AC for one minute.
4. High Voltage Test on MCCBs. High voltage withstand test at 2.5KV: - The A.C. voltage of 2.5KV, 50HZ
shall be applied for one minute as follows: a) Between Phase & Neutral b) Between Phase and earth
screw c) On the insulation of Multiple Outgoing Connectors. There shall not be any puncture or flash
over during this test.
5. Current Carrying Capacity: - The Current of 200 AMP shall be applied for 30 minutes through high
current source on each Multiple Outgoing Connector. There shall not be overheating of the terminals
during this test.
6. Earth Continuity Checking Test: - Earth Continuity shall be checked by megger between earth terminal
and body of the L.T. Distribution box.
Zinc Plated adjustable strip shall be provided on meter mounting arrangement for fixing of the meter.
Louvers for ventilation shall be provided on the sidewalls of the box such that only air circulation is
allowed .
