1.a) Describe two types of solar thermal power plants. (5+5)


b) dentify whether the following statements are true or false. If true mention “T” while for false it should
be “F”
i) Phosphorous is the most commonly used material for solar cells.
ii) One solar cell produces 0.5 Volt DC voltages.
iii) A charge controller cannot be used to power DC equipment with solar panels.
iv) Solar inverters have special functions adapted for use with PV arrays, including minimum power
point tracking
v) In grid connected system power is fed into the grid during day time and taking power from the
grid during night.
