Definition of Design

Design can be structural or decorative. Structural design focuses on the arrangement of elements like size, shape, and texture to create the basic structure and functionality of an object. Decorative design adds aesthetic elements like color, patterns, and motifs to enrich the structural design. Both are important in art, interior design, and architecture. In art, design elements and principles like balance and movement are essential to creating a work. Interior design uses structural and decorative elements to create harmony and beauty within a space. Architecture requires strong design of both the structural layout and decorative elements to result in a functional and aesthetically pleasing building.
