Progressive form
The past progressive tense
Past progressive or continuous
refers to an action that is taking
place in the past. It can also
refer to two actions happening
simultaneously in the past
Past progressive chart:
The action is in the
past. However, it is in
progress. It refers to
the duration of time in
the past
Structure of past progressive
In past
progressive, you
need:
Subject + TO
BE(past) + Verb
ING
Some examples:
Notice the
AUXILIAR
(was-were)
and the
change in
the verb
(+ING)
