STANDARD SPECIFICATION NO. 10814 INSULATION AND FIREPROOPING ATTACHMENT KUWAIT NATIONAL PETROLEUM COMPANY (K.S.C) Page 2 Rev. 0 Dater Oct. 9, 1984 INSULATION AND FIREPROOFING ATTACHMENT KNPC ENG STD 10B14 1 GENERAL Led 1.2 VY 1.3 SCOPE 1.1.1 This standard covers the requirements for thermal insulation and fireproofing attachments on vessels and exchangers. Attachments included are support rings, plate lugs, pins, and tie bars. 1.1.2 ALL thermal insulation and fireproofing attachments shall be provided and installed by vessel fabricator. 1.1.3 Insulation and fireproofing attachments on cold vessels and exchangers shall be considered on a project need basis. 1.1.4 Do not use this standard for insulation supports on insulated tanks. REFERENCES 1.2.1 ‘The following KNPC standards supplement this standard. STANDARDS TITLE 10aL Welded Unfired Pressure Vessel Standard B2aL External Insulation For Hot Piping Equipment. B4aL Pireproofing MATERIALS Material of attachments welded directly to shell and other requirements shall be in accordance with ENG STD 10Al. Circumferential and vertical tie bars welded to pins, support rings not welded directly to shell, and bolting, shall be carbon steel unless otherwise specified.
