Are you interested in bringing the beauty of advanced mathematics, cybersecurity, machine learning and
control into infrastructure networks? Can you help in transforming the critical infrastructures into smart,
secure, effective, reliable and efficient networks? Do you like to make sense of big data in utility
infrastructure? Do you think renewable and intermittent sources can be managed more reliably? Are you
interested in analytics and enhanced security solutions for the future cyber-physical systems?

Prof. Charalambos Konstantinou is joining the Division of Computer, Electrical and Mathematical
Sciences and Engineering (CEMSE) at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology
(KAUST) as an Assistant Professor in the CS and ECE programs. His interested areas include
Cybersecurity, Cyber-Physical and Industrial Control Systems, Smart Grid, and Embedded Systems.
See his personal website for details. He is (always) looking for postdocs, PhD students, internship and
visiting students (all are fully funded) to start from either Fall 2021 (accepting applications on a space-
available basis), Spring 2022, or Fall 2022. The prospective candidates will work on the security of cyber-
physical systems and embedded devices, operational challenges, computational innovation in power
systems area, real-time simulation and modeling tools, and cutting-edge technologies and techniques for
the future cyber-physical systems. If you are interested in working or have common interests with him,
please send him via email (ckonstantinou@ieee.org) your CV and transcripts before applying.

Internships
If you would like to visit Prof. Konstantinou’s Lab at KAUST as an intern, send him an email and explain
why you are interested in this. Include a CV and a transcript. Interns can spend anywhere between several
weeks to 6 months. KAUST has several internship programs, including the VSRP (Visiting Student
Research Program), Visiting Student, SSI (Saudi Summer Internships). Internships come complete with a
