The Kalashnikov Concern has began sales of its modernized Saiga MK ver.
030 5.45-mm self-loading carbine. In accordance with customer wishes, its design
has been changed to improve ergonomics and double the performance
characteristics of the product.
"Thanks to a thicker chrome plating layer in the bore, the guaranteed firing
life of the Saiga MK ver. 030 has increased from 4,000 to 10,000 shots, just like
for military weapons," noted Vladimir Dmitriyev, Deputy General Director of
Sales and Marketing at the Kalashnikov Concern. "In addition, the carbine is now
fitted with a safety lock with a pad for your index finger, which has improved the
ergonomics of the product. Today, the Saiga MK ver. 030 is the first civilian
weapon in the Kalashnikov brand line with high level of guarantee, and we are
proud to offer it to our customers."
The Saiga MK ver. 030 self-loading carbine is the civilian version of the
AK-74M Kalashnikov assault rifle. It is suitable for sport, training and
recreational shooting. If necessary, it can also be used for small-game hunting. The
carbine uses a time-proven, reliable gas-escape mechanism, and comes complete
with modern accessories made from impact-resistant plastic.
The modernized Saiga MK ver. 030 5.45-mm carbine comes with 10-round
magazines in an elongated dispenser magazine, and features an unfolding plastic
stock and a side rib for the installation of telescope mounts. A Picatinny rail is
included on the right and lower parts of the plastic fore-end for the installation of
accessories such as a fore grip or an under-barrel light. The carbine has a thicker
bore chrome plating layer and is equipped with a removable muzzle brake installed
on a M24х1.5 thread.
The carbine design includes a cartridge guide that improves feeding
reliability for all types of civilian cartridges, including semi-jacketed cartridges,
and allows sportsmen to also use 30-round dispenser magazines. A sight leaf
marked up to 1,000 m is provided, and the middle support rod has returned.
