They use true sources however what they intend by it after twisting it is misguidance and
evil, Hazrat Ali ‫رضي هللا عنه‬, encountered extremist who had similar mindset if not same, he
refuted them

Ubaydullah ibn Abi Rafi’ reported: The Haruriyya (Khawarij) came out against Ali ibn Abi
Talib and they said, “There is no rule but for Allah,” (12:40).Hazrat Ali ‫ رضي هللا عنه‬said, “A
word of truth by which is intended falsehood. Verily, the Messenger of Allah, ‫صلي هللا عليه‬
‫ وسلم‬, described some people and I recognized their description in these people. They speak
the truth with their words but it does not go beyond this,” and he pointed to this throat.

VERSES OF THE HOLY QUR’AN AND HADITH COMMANDING GOOD

TREATMENT OF DISBELIEVERS

1. And have patience against what they (your enemies) say, and withdraw from them in a
beautiful manner. (Surah 73, verse 10)

2. … So overlook (their wrong-doings) with gracious forgiveness. (Surah 15,verse 85)

3. And do not debate with the People of the Book except in the best of manners; (Surah 29,
verse 46)

4. Invite unto your Lord with wisdom and beautiful advice, and engage them in debate in a
style that is best. (Surah 16, verse 125)

2
5. And be kind (to others) like Allah has been kind to you, and seek not mischief in the land;
(Surah 28, verse 77)

6. And turn not your face from people in arrogance, nor walk on earth in insolence. Verily
Allah does not love every arrogant boaster. (Surah 31, verse 18)

7. And Allah does not forbid you from being kind and just to those (disbelievers) who do
not fight you with regards to Religion, nor evict you from your homes. Verily Allah loves
those who are just. (Surah 60, verse 8)

8. And if they (The Pagans) desist (from fighting you) then there should be no transgression
(against them), except against a people who are oppressors. (Surah 2, verse 193)

9. And if they (the enemy) incline towards peace then you too, incline towards the same.
(Surah 8, verse 61)

10. And if any of the Disbelievers seeks refuge from you, then grant him refuge so that he
can hear the Word of Allah, then escort him to a place where he is secure.

These are a few verses of many that explain cordial relations to both peace loving
disbelievers as well as those who show enmity.

The Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “A true believer is one from
whose hands and tongue mankind is safe.” Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)

Evidences they may use from the Quran explained:

Quran 4:89-90

4: 89: And they wish that you should disbelieve like they have, then you will be equal; so
take them not as your friends until they migrate in the Path of Allah. And if they turn away,
then seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them a
friend or helper.

4: 90: Excluding those who join a people with whom you have a peace treaty or those who
approach you whilst their hearts are restrained from fighting you or fighting their people.
And if Allah willed He could have imposed them over you then indeed they would fight

3
against you. So if they withdraw from you and fight you not but instead send you peace
(offers) then Allah has not given you any right to fight them.

Explanation:

From this literal translation and a thoughtful reading of the above verses it is clear that the
command to kill is constrained and conditioned with certain special circumstances.

These verses were revealed in Madinah, after the Messenger of Allah ‫ صلي هللا عليه وسلم‬had laid
foundation of the new Islamic state. It was within the context of this fledgling Islamic state
that the above verses were revealed. The first principle that emerges, therefore, is that
these verses are directed to the Islamic state and not individual Muslims. Any intelligent
person will understand that the power given to a State or Administration is far more
forceful, encompassing, and comprehensive than that enjoyed by an individual. However,
even in these rules, the Islamic State is not given a carte blanch to kill disbelievers at whim
and wish, as will be explained further.

2. The phrase until they migrate in the Path of Allah gives us another indication of the
application of this verse. The verse cannot be referring to non-Muslims because migrating
in the Path of Allah is not an act of disbelievers or non-Muslims. Nowhere in The Holy
Quran are disbelievers required to migrate or leave their hometowns for the sake of Islam.
It is, therefore, evident that until they migrate in the Path of Allah is a reference to people
who profess to be Muslims. These are the hypocrites, people who outwardly proclaimed to
be Muslims but inwardly were not so. They were the impostors and spies among the
Muslim community who were out to create mischief and strife. These traitors were also
guilty of instigating other communities and nations to attack Muslims, as mentioned in
several books of history. The verse before this one, that is, verse number, 88 clearly states:
“And what is wrong with you, that you are split (in opinion) with regards to the
Hypocrites…….? The context of this section of the chapter tells us clearly that verse 89
refers to Hypocrites and not to disbelievers such as the Jews, Christians, or Pagan Arabs.

3. Verse 89 states: And if they turn away, then seize them… This instruction means that if
these hypocrites, after embracing the Islamic faith, renounce the Religion and renegade
against the Muslim community then they must be seized, that is, arrested, and then killed.
But the killing is not a summary form of execution. The commentaries state that they will

4
be arrested, tried, and if found guilty, executed. They will be executed because they
committed the unpardonable sin of treason, which in any Government or Country is a
major crime punishable with death. This law applies to the Islamic state, and is not a licence
to any Muslim to just go and kill non-Muslims

4. The words wherever you find them, must be taken in conjunction with both the phrases
before it, i.e. seize them and kill them. That means the perpetrators of treason should be
hunted down and seized wherever they hide, and the punishment of death be meted out.
This is an injunction for efficient government and law enforcement. Any Government will
need to have the ability and expertise to hunt down major criminals within its structures.
An Administration that is unable to achieve this becomes the laughing stock of all and
sundry.

5. Verse 90 is another clear sign of the justice and fairness meted out by Islam, and refutes
the notion non-Muslims have falsely inferred from the previous verse, that Muslims are
commanded to kill disbelievers wherever they are found. In this verse the Muslim
government is given the following guidelines:

a) Honouring its treaties, pacts, and pledges with other nations.

b) Honouring even the friends of those with whom it has a pact or treaty.

c) Even the renegades and traitors have to be spared and honoured if they befriend a
nation that has a pact with Muslims.

d) Not to fight or kill those who come to them with peaceful motives and offers of
friendship.

e) It is forbidden for Muslims to fight people who make an offer for truce.

f) Fighting is only resorted to when there is an act of violence or aggression from the other
party.

The above elements form part of the Divine Justice that is so profound in Islam. On this
basis, the criticism levelled at Islam by its antagonists is totally unfair, unwarranted, and
stems from ignorance about the true meanings of the Holy Quran.

5
6. In verse 91 that follows the above, another clear ruling is mentioned: “And if they
withdraw not from (fighting) you, nor offer you peace or restrain themselves (from
aggression), then seize them and kill them wherever you find them. This command
confirms the fact alluded to above, that even the hypocrites and renegades will be granted
peace on condition that they refrain from aggression and violence. Again, this is the
mandate granted to a State, whose duty it is to maintain law and order and protect the
rights of people.

Quran 9:5

"And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find
them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of
ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their
way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."

Context of the Verse of the Sword [9:5]

The Verse of the Sword deals specifically with the situation of Meccan polytheists breaking
peace treaties and openly declaring war on the Muslim polity. The verse, then, commands
the Muslim state to take up arms and defend itself against those that breached their
covenants and attacked out of treachery.

This explanation is confirmed by the most reliable Imams of Qur’anic exegesis [tafsir],
including Imam Razi, Imam Jamal, Imam Zamakhshari, Imam Baydawi, Imam Nasafi, Imam
Biqa`i, and others.

[Razi, Mafatih al-Ghayb; Jamal, Hashiyat al-Jalalayn; Zamakhshari, Kashshaf; Baydawi, Anwar
al-Tanzil; Nasafi, Madarik al-Tanzil; Biqa`i, Nadhm al-Durar]

The verse, therefore, can by no means be generalized to refer to all disbelievers. Such an
interpretation is not confirmed by scholars of Qur’anic interpretation. It would be both
contrary to the intent of the verses as well as disastrous for the security of both Muslim and
non-Muslim citizens and nation-states.

Evidences they may use, from the Hadith explained:

6
Sahih Muslim 22

I have been commanded to fight people until they say there is no God but Allah and
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah"

Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 25

Explanation:

Firstly, the hadith generally may get mistranslated. It does not say, “I was ordered to kill…”,
rather it says, “I was ordered to fight.” There is a huge difference between the two words.
Killing (qatl) is one-directional, whereas fighting (qital) implies mutuality, i.e., that there are
two sides fighting each other. [Dr. Bouti, Jihad fil Islam]

Moreover, this hadith does not apply to all non-believers: the word “people” (nas) used in
the hadith is restricted by other texts of the Qur’an and sunna, and is therefore understood
to refer only to Arab polytheists. We should bring together all the narrations and verses
that mention the context in which the Prophet (ṣ) made this statement and interpret them
comprehensively and consistently, rather than taking a single narration out of context.
Other narrations make clear that “fighting the people” here refers to the Arab tribes who
threatened the new Muslim community in Mecca.

In another narration, the Prophet (ṣ) said:

َ ‫ت َأنْ ُأ َقا ِت َل ْال ُم ْش ِرك‬

‫ِين‬ ُ ْ‫ُأمِر‬

I have been commanded to fight the idolaters…

7
Source: Sunan Abī Dāwūd 2642, Grade: Sahih

On the basis of this narration, scholars understood that “people” is not general and instead
refers to a specific group.

Ibn Hajar commented on this tradition, writing:

If it is said that the tradition required fighting everyone who rejects monotheism, how do
you leave fighting those who pay tribute or enter a peace treaty? The answer is… that the
general statement is specified as it refers to the achievement of an objective. Source: Fatḥ
al-Bārī 1/77

Sahih Muslim 1745 a:

It is reported on the authority of Sa'b b. Jaththama that the Prophet of Allah (‫)ﷺ‬, when
asked about the women and children of the polytheists being killed during the night raid,
said: They are from them.

Explanation:

Imam bukhari when mentioning this hadith put it under the title "Chapter: Permissibility of
killing women and children in night raids, so long as it is not done deliberately"

Those who try to justify killing women and children deliberately by using this hadith, the
very title by a great hadith scholar goes against them as he is saying, targeting them
deliberately can NOT be done.

Furthermore we have explicit statements from the Prophet ‫ صلى هللا عليه وسلم‬against this evil
doing of killing children and women. Look below: 👇
Saheeh Bukhari

Volume 004, Book 052, Hadith Number 257.

8
Narrated By 'Abdullah : During some of the Ghazawat of the Prophet a woman was found
killed. Allah's Apostle disapproved of the killing of women and children.

Volume 004, Book 052, Hadith Number 258.

Narrated By Ibn 'Umar : During some of the Ghazawat of Allah's Apostle a woman was
found killed, so Allah's Apostle forbade the killing of women and children.

There's more hadiths but this shall suffice inshaa Allah for a reasonable person.

Extremists may argue, how do you explain this narration then:

Saheeh Bukhari Volume 004, Book 052, Hadith Number 256.

The Prophet passed by me at a place called Al-Abwa or Waddan, and was asked whether it
was permissible to attack the pagan warriors at night with the probability of exposing their
women and children to danger. The Prophet replied, "They (i.e. women and children) are
from them (i.e. pagans)." I also heard the Prophet saying, "The institution of Hima is invalid
except for Allah and His Apostle."

Our reply:

There are many possible meanings for these hadith. First of all we don't know the exact
situation or what the Prophet (peace be upon him) truly meant. Maybe those particular
women and children were planning to fight against the Muslims with the enemy.

Maybe the Muslim army just could not have blown this chance to attack the enemy that
they still had to attack them at no matter what cost in order to stop the risk of more blood
shed (do a little bad for the greater good). This is unlikely but possible.

The very fact that the companions of the Prophet ‫ ص‬asked for his permission shows that
the Prophet ‫ ص‬used to be strict regarding his prohibition on the killing of women and
children. If the Muslims were in the habit of killing women and children they wouldn't have
asked for the Prophet's opinion. However, when a situation arises and there is no choice,
things could get ugly.

9
Also notice that the companions did not ask the Prophet ‫ ص‬whether they could deliberately
target the women and children. They merely mentioned that the women and children will
be exposed to danger when they were attacking the men warriors.

Imam Ibn Hajar Al Asaqalani says in his commentary on Saheeh Bukhari that the point is
not to target the women and children intentionally but if there is absolutely no other way to
kill the enemy than by injuring the women and children because they are mixed with the
men then there is no other choice. (Read Ibn Hajar Al Asqalani's Fathul Bari, Kitab: Al Jihad
wal Sayr, Bab: Ahlul Daar Yabeetoon Fa Yusaab Al Waldaan wal Zharaari, Commentary on
Hadith no. 2790, Source)

He also said that another possibility is that the hadith has been abrogated and that even if
women and children accompany the enemy during war then they still should not be killed.
(ibid.) That's why it's possible that the Prophet ‫ ص‬after this incident decided to stop
attacking the enemy at night but during the day so that he can see who he is fighting
clearly...

Saheeh Bukhari

Volume 005, Book 059, Hadith Number 510.

Narrated By Anas : Allah's Apostle reached Khaibar at night and it was his habit that,
whenever he reached the enemy at night, he will not attack them till it was morning…

I hope these extremists fix up and not manipulate islamic texts.

Their actions and things which makes them evil doers:

10
Many reasons why they are evil, some of the reasons are below. Isis supporters may
suggest hyper skepticism about the atrocities of isis or they may just dismiss it and accept it
as correct. Don't be phazed by their denial of such occurrences or dismissal of it, these
people are deaf dumb and blind to support such evil. All the sources can be analysed
thoroughly, as these are NOT hidden or tampered information rather its well known reality.

The latter was the victim of an egregiously heinous crime. After seeing the crimes

family), he was ruthlessly murdered in front of an audience. Not even his conversion to

Conclusion and list of sources used:

No ideology or movement based on extremism can survive long if it is founded on

extremism, because it is an un-natural method of seeking to achieve one’s goals. If
extremism is the very basis of a movement, the movement is bound to fail in the long run
as extremism inevitably leads to chaos, disruption and strife. In other words, extremism is
its own negation and nemesis.

In the Holy Qur’an Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) has said:

“And in the same way we made you a moderate Ummah (community)…” (Quran 2:143)

According to the present verse, the characteristic quality, which confers superiority on the
Islamic ummah over others, is it’s being Wasat, which means midmost, moderate, or just. It
is a quality of his ummah that Allah has given us this special quality of being moderate. And
those who are extreme it comes about from their lack of understanding of the Holy Qur’an
and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ‫صلَّى هَّللا ُ َع َل ْي ِه َو َسلَّ َم‬
