BFP 40103 -CONSTRUCTION PROJECT PLANNING AND SCHEDULING
GROUP PROJECT INSTRUCTION
Learning Outcome.
1. To develop a planning and scheduling plan for the construction project by using Microsoft Project software.
2. To display an ability to lead and productively participate in a group for producing a scheduling plan for a construction
project.
Problem Background.
Construction project management consists of few activities including planning, scheduling, monitoring and controlling.
Before the project started, a contractor shall prepare a planning and scheduling program schedule so that the scope of
work and project objectives can be achieved within a time frame given. The execution master plan schedule is using
project charter, work method statement, contract document, drawings and so on.
Instruction.
Based on the documents or information obtain, prepare a scheduling plan for the project. Your report shall include the
following items:
1. Team member information
2. Project background: Project information, cost, contract duration, location, project detail, etc
3. Work breakdown structure (Outline View)
4. Master plan schedule using Microsoft Project
5. Table of duration calculation (including quantity, numbers of workers, productivity rate, etc)
Your project is limited to a building construction project with minimum cost RM 1,000,000 and with at least 100
activities. You may use any assumption to complete the task and any assumption must be written in your report.
You are also required to produce a video presentation of your work and upload the video to Youtube. The video must
NOT exceed 8 minutes. You are free to use any video editing software.
Submission is by email to mfikrihasmori@gmail.com with email subject: CPS PROJECT S1 (for section 1) or S2 (for
section 2) or S3 (for section 3). Don’t forget to also attach the link of your Youtube video inside the email body. So a
complete submission must have a report and a Youtube link.
Submission deadline is 1st July 2021.
