1. Germany (1886)

A. He became a member of the chess player’s club.


B. He wrote poem to the beautiful blooming flowers at the Nectar river.
C. He wrote his first letter in German to Professor Ferdinand Blumentrit.

2. Berlin (1886)

A. He met Dr. Feodor Jagor author of Travels in the Philippines, a book that he admired
because of its keen observances in Philippine setting.
B. He was the first Asian to be accorded with honors for being a member of the
Anthropological Society, The Ethnological Society, and the Geographical Society of
Berlin.
C. He took private lessons in the French language under Madame Lucie Cerdole in order
to master the french language.
D. He published the Noli Me Tangere.

3. Spain (1888)

A. Enrolled in the Universidad Central de Madrid- Medicine and Philosophy and Letters.
B. Had a love affair with Consuelo Ortega y Perez.
C. He met Marcelo H. del Pilar and Mariano Ponce for the first time.

4. Tokyo, Japan (1888)

A. He became friend of Juan Perez Caballero and describe him as a young, fine and an excellent
writer.
B. He studied the japanese language, drama, arts, music and judo.
C. He met a pretty Japanese girl named Seiko Usui and he fell in love.

5. United States of America (April 28, 1888)

A. In his arrival he saw the discriminatory treatment of the chinese and the Negroes by the
white Americans.
