BTLEd – I

The feeling I had after watching this video can never express how grateful I am. That Rizal was
chosen to be one of our heroes. Since Rizal was a child, he believed in the power of education, is one of
the best armor a person must have and it served as a reminder to value and appreciate education, as
long as we can. We all know that Rizal is a man that is prepared to give up everything for the sake of
others. This tells me that in order to succeed in life, there are some influences that person must have.
The first influence is the influence of God. The second is the influence of family. The third is the
influence of country. And the last one is the influence of self. We all know that Rizal fought his bottle
together with his fear of God and in return, he had blessed abundantly not by material things, but a
spiritual one and that includes his cares intelligence compassion. And love the second influence is the
influence of family. Rizal’s family played an important role in his life, because they gave him enough
courage that guides him to attain his objectives. We all know that family establish once character from
what they will become. The third influence is the influence of country, I really don’t know where Rizal
get his passion in loving our country and I almost believe in every person’s heart there is a space
provided to love our country because that's what I feel and learn from Rizal’s journey. He shows us the
importance of standing in our own and proves that Filipinos are not imprudent enough to give our
country in the hand of others. He believed of what Filipino can do and he also believed that Filipinos has
enough talent to show off. The last influence is the influence of self, and I have learned from Rizal’s life
that you should make yourself productively, he makes himself grow with wisdom and acknowledge it in
God’s purpose. He did not say to himself that he is not worth enough to gain our trust. And our hero
doesn't turn a blind eyes for what is happening in his environment maybe Rizal fought like not that the
topical battle we all know but he prove to us that the pen is mightier than any kind of sword from his
intellectual capability in writing. It enables him to convince us to attain justice. He shows us how
powerful our words and their always positive and negative in it, words could heal ones heart but it could
also harm like a double edge sword.

We all know that Rizal lived in a simple life and he did not choose to have a luxury life like the
most of us wanted. Even before he became under the surveillance by the Spaniards, he had lived his life
as simple as possible and I believe it was because how his parents raised him. One of the best thing I’ve
learned about the life of Rizal was parents have the greatest contribution in one’s life. For the whole
semester, I’ve known how the way Rizal lived and who Rizal was. It might not all about him but those
knowledge that I’ve learned is enough to say to other Filipinos that Jose Rizal deserves to be what he
have known for today. I believe that one of the best things that happened in our country is when the
Rizal Law lifted; this inspires us especially the students and educators that education can bring new
chapters in person’s life. That’s why our national hero believed that youth is the hope of our future.
Rizal’s life was truly amazing and colorful for the hero’s experiences mold him to what God purposely do
to him. He might die earlier than we all not expected but I know that he lived his life to the fullest with
no regrets and hesitations. Those experiences of Rizal made me think that life has many ways to make
us productive in ourselves and to others. And a piece of reminder, don’t make selfish decision that will
harm other instead be the one that is capable of fighting for the sake of others. We can be grateful and
thankful for Rizal as much as we want but I think the most effective way to get back to him is to love his
country in the best way that we can. To study one’s life give me an expression how it is hard to be
human, how hard it is to be poor, and how hard it is to be powerless. But during that time, we should be
thankful that there is Rizal that stands together with those powerless and poor. We should not also
forget that despite of happenings in our country or in our life, harming others cannot be the best
answer. Lastly, I would like to thank to our professor who heartedly give us more knowledge and facts
about Dr. Jose Rizal. At first I really find it boring but thanks to our professor, I find it that it is
interesting and motivating.
