INTRODUCTION
Over the past few decades advancements in the Information and Communication Technology has led to
its penetration in a number of fields. One such field of interest is the Business field.
Within the business sector, a major growth has been witnessed in the field of e-commerce.

Online food businesses is amongst one of the trending topics in the world of e-commerce. The
emergence of e-commerce has brought lucrative opportunities for food businesses around the world.
Technology has played a big role in revolutionizing the food delivery service from phone-based to
online ordering to satisfying consumers’ ever-changing demands, making its way to the top. It has also
contributed to the changes in consumer preference as their dependence on technology has moved them
to do everything online including getting cooked meals delivered to their doorstep. [ CITATION Goh \l

Even in a developing country like Nepal, where e-commerce is not fully evolved online food delivery
sites can be found. They are not many in number but their demand by any means is not scarce. Most of
these online food delivery portals in the country aim on expanding businesses for the existing food
industries by providing an online market.

In a hectic and jam-packed daily schedule, people tend to compromise majorly on the kind, quality and
amount of food they eat, which in turn causes a number of health issues like obesity, diabetes,
hypertension, cancer, etc. Most of the time, people away from home tend to skip meals or eat any kind
of fat loaded junk food that they can find easily around them.[ CITATION Jid18 \l 1033 ] Our project
entitled ‘BhansaGhar: Food that feels like home’ is a full service online food delivery system that aims
to deliver healthy and hygienic food to employees and workers at corporate houses that are prepared at
home by housewives. BhansaGhar is a web based application that primarily focuses on delivering food
items that normally get prepared in every Nepali household. No matter how much we like eating fast
foods At the end of the day we always want to have food that tastes and feels like home. Our project
tries to deliver just that.

1.1 Problem Statement:

1. Unhealthy lifestyle of working people:

The everyday hustle and hectic work life of people often lead to the lack of time for eating a proper
healthy meal. A large percentage of workers and employees at different corporate sectors mostly tend
to eat out during lunch breaks and usually the unhealthy and junk food. It may be fine once or twice but
such food habits won’t prove beneficial for the long run. The lack of easy access to healthy and
hygienic meals is an issue that our project aims to tackle.

2. Lack of on demand hygienic homemade food delivery:

A number of online food delivery services available in the country delivery food from different
restaurants that are seldom healthy and good for the health even though they taste delicious.A lack of
on demand hygienic homemade food delivery to work places is noticed. Our project attempts to
provide a platform to facilitate delivery of good food from home to corporate houses.

3. Lack of employment opportunities for Nepalese housewives:

Nepalese housewives can indulge themselves in earning good money with their cooking skills by
selling their food to employees at various work sectors. This application can assist women to
commercialize their cooking expertise hence, opening new areas in employment for women and
empowering them.

1.2 Research / Project Objectives

The project attempts to fulfill the following objectives:

1. To provide fresh and completely hygienic homemade food on demand.

2. To empower Nepalese housewives by providing employment opportunities
3. Useful for college students, hostel residents and employees. As the application will provide a
platform for ordering a home-made meal on the go.
4. To promote local and everyday meals of Nepalese in the global market.

1.3 Significance of the study

1. Serves healthy food:

Most authentic tiffin services serve healthy home-made food for regular consumption. The quality of
the food is a crucial aspect. Although the menu is fixed and altered every day, you could at times alter
it or request for a certain level of spice in the dish, if you are a regular customer.

2. Not everyone is a good cook:

Often many of us do not enjoy cooking or can decently cook. But that does not mean that we are not
entitled to eat delicious food. Thus, tiffin services are excellent way of ordering mouth-watering food.

3. Choose what you eat:

As already mentioned, you could sometimes customize the menu. Apart from that you could also
choose between veg and non-veg and order alternatively. This adds variety to your plate without you
having to do anything apart from dial a phone number and order accordingly.[ CITATION Vin15 \l

4. Hygienic and healthy food

Food cooked here is done with great care, by taking all the measures to deliver top quality and hygienic
food that is healthy and is full nutrition and taste.

5. Employment opportunities for Nepalese housewives:

Nepalese housewives can indulge themselves in earning good money with their cooking skills by
selling their food to employees at various work sectors.

Thus, tiffin services is a life saver for many. The service is lucrative for both the working people as
well as people who, although stay at house do not remotely prefer to cook. As a luxury or as a
necessity, the door to door delivering of food has made life a little easier for all people.

1.4 Methodology

1.4.1 Research Methodology

Research is a very important aspect of project development. Multiple methods are used to get a
comprehensive knowledge about the problem the project is trying to solve. Qualitative research is a
systematic scientific inquiry which seeks to build a holistic, largely narrative, description to inform the
researchers understanding of a social or cultural phenomenon. Our project makes use of Qualitative
Research methodology. Qualitative research worked out under a combination of observations,
interviews, field visit and document reviews.

1.4.2.1 Field Visit

This will include reaching and observing multiple business houses involved in online food delivery
services. The findings from a field visit will be very important for pushing the project ahead. Only after
knowing the drawbacks of current approach in homemade food delivery service will this project be
able to create a product that makes a difference to change the current scenario.
1.4.2.2 Interview

Interviewing will be equally important part of the research methodology. This encompasses having
conversations and taking brief survey of workers at different business sectors about their food habits.
Questionnaire are presented to gather their opinion on the need of getting healthy food at work.
Housewives were also taken interviewed in order to know their interest in involving in this business.

1.4.2.3 Internet

The internet is a secondary research methodology. The plethora of information and ideas that can be
received from internet simply wouldn't be possible to attain without such a means. To make this project
a success, the author will rely on the internet to find the shortcomings of other approaches that this
project has to overcome. Also ideas regarding a better portal that does just that will further enhance the
project.

1.4.2 Feasibility Study

The first step in the analysis phase was to conduct feasibility study. Feasibility study is an important
step in system analysis because of the following reasons:

● List in detail all the things needed to make the website work
● Identify problems and solutions.
● Serves as a solid foundation for the project.

1.4.2.1 Technical Feasibility

This system is planned to be programmed in node.js. The web application will be built on the MERN
stack. The web app have MongoDB as database. Express as the framework. React for the front-end and
Node.js for backend functionalities. Hence, the project is technically feasible since all the technical
components required for the project is already stable and running.

1.4.2.2 Operational Feasibility

This project can be conducted with a minimum human resource. Two developers are working in the
project which is more than enough manpower required for this project. This project aims to create an
online community service for online food delivery system that aims to deliver healthy and hygienic
food to employees and workers at corporate houses that are prepared at home by housewives.

1.4.2.3 Legal Feasibility

This project aims to create a e-commerce website intended to showcase a business to customer model
which doesn’t violate any rules and regulations, so this project is legal.

1.4.2.4 Economic Feasibility

The project to be developed is very cost effective because the project will be using open source
software like Node.js,react.js etc which are freely available to download. There are many websites
which host other websites for free until certain storage limit is met which is currently efficient for the
project. Also, the benefits provided by the project easily outweighs the cost. So, the project can be
considered economical feasible for the time being.

1.4.2.5 Schedule Feasibility

The time given for the completion of this project was a whole semester. So, the project has enough time
for completion for this project. Since, the developers have some experience with web development
strategies the project will not be so challenging.

1.4 Deliverables:

1. The application will provide an interactive platform for ordering and delivering home cooked
food.
2. The application will provide direct contact between healthy food seeking employees and food
providing housewives.
3. The application will provide a food menu serving food items normally prepared by women
inside every nepali household.
4. The application will contain a discussion section for reviewing and getting customer feedback.
