Stereotyped behavior: He is frequently observed of avoiding eye contact. He has specific
preference for eating spicy food. He has mouthing behavior. He puts collar of shirt in mouth
and eats mud and other non nutritive substances. Whirling is seldom observed. He runs over
the place. He makes high pitched sounds. He attempts to injure self by head banging.
Communication: He cannot communicate through speech. He does make appropriate use of
gestures. He would lead others to things for his wants and needs. He does not attend well to
his name. Attention need to be aroused. He cannot respond to simple commands, ‘No’ and
‘Yes’ appropriately.
Social Interaction: He looks away when eye contact is made. He does not resist physical
contact but he does not frequent give any affectionate response like hugging. He is withdrawn
and aloof child. He does not imitate actions immediately. He has fear of pigeon and fear of
falling. He seldom looks through people. He makes inappropriate use of toys by taking them
apart. He seldom does things repetitively. He cannot adjust well to change in routine. He
responds negatively when he is made request, directed or given command.
Clinical Impression:
The child meets criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder.
