1.INTRODUCTION
Computers have become part of the life for accessing almost any kind of information. Life in the
21st century is full of technological advancement and in this technological age it is very difficult
for any organization to survive without utilizing technology. The World Wide Web contributes
greatly to the creation of an ever-increasing global information database. It could also be used as
a mechanism to share information within an enterprise.
The employee record system is very simple and for very beginner mini project. It is based on the
menu-driven program for elementary database management. It employ all the basic technique of
file handling in C. It consists of following features Writing the data in binary file Reading the
data from binary file Modify the record Delete the record This project is a learning milestone for
beginners who want to step into the database management project in C. Employee database
management system is consistent of crucial work-related and important personal information
about an employee. In a nutshell, it is an online inventory of all employees of an organization.
Employee Management System is a distributed application, developed to maintain the details of
employees working in any organization .The EMS has been developed to override the problems
prevailing in the practicing manual system. It maintains the information about the personal and
official details of the employees. This project aims to simplify the task of maintaining records of
the employees of Company.
Listed below are a few reasons why employee database management system is important
for startups and small businesses:
   • Availability
It performs as a readily available source of information between the organization and the
employee. Contact information, salary information, posts, work schedule, education information
etc. is what most database systems consist of.

   • Efficiency
Employee management systems are highly efficient. A member of the organization can easily
retrieve information about his/her colleague whenever required, and that too on short notice. One
can avoid making calls to the employee out on vacation just to retrieve an address to send an
important letter.
 2. Problem definition:
Manual handling of employee information poses a number of challenges. This is evident in
procedures such as leave management where an employee is required to fill in a form which may
take several weeks or months to be approved. The use of paper work in handling some of these
processes could lead to human error, papers may end up in the wrong hands and not forgetting
the fact that this is time consuming. A number of current systems lack employee self-service
meaning employees are not able to access and manage their personal information directly
without having to go through their HR departments or their managers. Another challenge is that
multi-national companies will have all the employee information stored at the headquarters of
the company making it difficult to access the employee information from remote places when
needed at short notice.
 2.1. Existing system
Existing system is based on standalone systems. The human resource administrator falls short of
controlling the employee’s activities in analyzing his/her strengths and weakness. Existing
employee management system is not much user friendly.

2.2.Disadvantages
  •   Need of extra manual effort.
  •   As current system is stand alone, normal employees cannot track their employee status.
  •   It used to take much time to find any employee.
  •   Not very much accurate.
  •   Compatible up to windows XP.
  •   Danger of losing files.
3. Proposed Methodology:
  The proposed system is intranet based system. So employee can also participate in this
  system and can track their status. The proposed system provides detailed general information
  about the employee along the educational, skill and project details .it enhances the human
  resource management in adding, viewing and updating employee’s details and generates
  various reports regarding employee’s skill and experience. The proposed system of human
  resource module is the right software to be incorporated into the automation of human
  resource software for helping the organization needs with respect to skillful human resource.
3.1. Advantages
  •   As it is intranet application it can be accessed by multiple users at a time.
  •   Proposed system provides domain login facility so no need to remember user id and
      password.
  •   Very fast and accurate.
  •   No need of extra manual effort.
  •   Just need a little knowledge to operate the system. Doesn’t require any extra hardware
      device.

4. REQUIREMENT ANALYSIS
  4.1. HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
  The physical components required are:
     •   Processor: Intel core2 duo processor,2.00 GHz
     •   Hard disk drive: 297.2 GB RAM: 3 GB
     •   Operating System: Windows /vista/8/9
4.2. SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
    The software used in building this program are as specified:

6. RESULT AND DISCUSSION:
   The project code proposed is fairly good, it achieved most of the user requirements, the user
   interface is good and is very easy to navigate, and even novice users can find their way
   around the easily. The client side validation is excellent. The lack of integration with a
   payroll system is the major drawback and the system was also unable to generate structured
   reports i.e. reports based on specific information the Human Resource is interested in.
  6.1.      System Design :
  The physical system specify input and output media. Design the database and specify backup
  procedures. Design physical information flow through the system and a physical design
  Walkthrough plan system implementation. Prepare a conversion schedule and target date.
  Determine training procedures, courses and timetable. Devise a test and implementation plan
  and specify any new hardware/software. Update benefits, costs, and conversion date and
  system constraints. Feasibility study. Requirements engineering. Architectural design module
  design.

  6.2.   Analysis :
  Software development life cycle process specifies a method of developing the software. Each
  software development projects start with some needs and ends with some software that
  satisfies those needs. A software development life cycle specifies the set of activities that
  should be performed to go from user needs to final products. Depending on the nature of
  project, a suitable model is chosen and the entire process of software requirement analysis,
  design, coding, testing and maintenance is performed accordingly.
7. CONCLUSION
  Since this project has been designed exclusively as a project, certain complexities that do
  faced by any real-life manual problem like total no. of employee, address redundancy etc. are
  considered in this project. But enhancement to the project can easily be made without
  changing the current design and programming structure.
  This project aims to simplify the task of maintaining records of the employees of Company.
  To develop a well-designed database to store employee information.
  Provides full functional reports to management of Company.
  The objective of this project is to provide a comprehensive approach towards the
  management of employee information. The records are maintained in registers. Time
  consuming process, Complicated searching, editing & updating are made easier to work on.
  Helps in maintaining the computerized employee details.
