Job Title : Geologist


Grade :D
Reporting to : Superintendent - Geology

A several vacancies exists within Geology Department for the position of Geologist. Those who
are interested in this position are invited to apply.
Key elements of the position include:
• Implement the outlines that stated in KPC Geologist Field Procedures.
• Collect and gathers geology data from cuttings and cores resulting from exploration drilling
programs, progressively interprets geological information, and assists in planning further work or
modification of the current drilling program.
• Complete reconciliation between field data (cutting, core) and geophysical logs to ensure that
thickness, depth and lithology units are correct and valid.
• Ensure that when reconciling the lithological logs, the geophysical logs are extensively used to
correlate all the coal seams within the borehole.
• Conducts field geology mapping and prepare its report, ensure that all available geological data
are recorded, documented and well interpreted.
• Supervise exploration activity (drilling, mapping), including conduct sampling for coal/NAG/core
and other lithology based on the required standards.
• Liaise with the exploration Drilling Supervisor regarding execution of the drilling programme.
• Liaise with Pit Geologist and Mining Personnel’s, to coordinate infill drilling program at active
mine areas.
Qualifications:
• S1 degree in Geology from recognized institution, minimum 3 years relevant experience in the
mining industry, ideally with exposure to wellsite geologist.
• Good understanding on geology, quality and properties of coal and coal mining operation
activities.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills and aptitude to solve technical problems.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills in Bahasa and in English.
• Good leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Have a driving license (SIM A) and off road driving experienced.
