Role of Houseparents: Pag-asa Youth Home Manual of Operations
1. Houseparents are directly responsible for the observance / enforcement of the
daily schedule of activities of minor admitted at Pag-asa Youth Home Detention
Center.
2. Houseparents are directly responsible for the supervision of wards, cleanliness
and orderliness of Pag-asa Youth Home.
3. Houseparents must maintain records / observations of the behavior of wards
during their tour of duty.
4. Houseparents are not allowed to leave the center without being properly relieved.
5. Individual folders of wards must be properly maintained.
6. Undesirable behavior / conduct of wards must be immediately corrected and not
to wait for incoming houseparent
7. The daily menu should be with the discretion and control of the houseparents on
duty. There should be a weekly menu certified by a nutritionist or dietitian.
8. Kitchen knives, matches and other dangerous materials should be properly kept
in designated place.
9. Foods and other things brought by relatives and friends of the wards at PYH must
be inspected by the houseparent on duty to ensure safety inside the center.
Role of Houseparents: Women’s Crisis Center
1. Help in the supervision and checking of daily behavioral observations /
manifestations of wards;
2. Ensure that house rules are followed for the safety of the personnel, wards
and properties of the center;
3. Assist in the moral & spiritual sessions though group dynamics or peer group
counseling;
4. Personal hygiene supervision of wards;
5. Conduct tutorial sessions when necessary;
6. Report immediately any untoward incidents; and
7. Maintain logbook of visitors and make sure that their names are properly
registered therein as well as the date, time and purpose of coming;
